Well i just thought i would mention if you see a TV with the pixel size 1440 x 900 dont buy it because although pictures you watch using the internal tuner will be in proportion, if you watch anything from an extenal source other than a pc the picture will be in 16:10 ratio which means the picture will be stretched and it is quite noticable too so much so that my Samsung i bought Syncmaster 940mw is now only used as a pc monitor as i find watching dvd's on it to be maddeningly frustating probably because it reminds of losing the reciept and not being able to take it back to Argos

No cash , i bought it about 4 months ago it was meant for the bedroom to be used to watch dvd's, use with pc and watch tv,( do you know i have a virgin broadband cable line which plugs into my modem but if i put a adapter on it and plug it into my tv i can get all the normal channels + news 24 and e4 and about 3 more channels with the virgin media id on, i did this with another tv years ago and back then i got an extra 5 channels including some sky ones which is i presume is why the virgin id's are on ) When i went for the refund i said i would buy my replacement from them which would have meant me paying another £300 to £400 but they still said no

Flat screen TVs smaller than 23" are almost always 16:10 as they use panels originally designed for use as computer monitors. Shame the PC and TV industry lacked the insight to choose a common aspect ratio...
