Tip for any one with a GPRS tariff
Tip for anyone with a GPRS tariff....
For anyone with a Gprs phone but sends a lot of text messages hers a tip. Go to your message options switch the SMS bearer from your message centre number to use GPRS. you wont be charged for any messages as it will part of the GPRS bundle(whether you subscibe to 1MB,1.5 MB, or 2MB) Nokia 6310i Settings Messages>Message Settings>Sending Profile>Default>Use GPRS select Yes The only catch is it will take longer to send it |

Not possible. Tried that on Orange and was billed for every message.

I'm open to be corrected, but no UK network currently supports SMS over GPRS. Even if you can get it to work, you'll be charged once for the data sent and again for the SMS as normal.
Kinda defeats the point.... |

Don't think the two are linked. There's no option to do that on my phone and there' no way would mobile companies have missed that. Good theory though

I've been sneding SMS over GPRS with my old T68i on Orange for the past few months... You still get charged your standard text costs for it, however its a helluva lot faster to send.
