Is anyone else here getting an iPod Touch? I tried to resist it, but I can't. I'm a sucker for gadgets and it looks so nice. I think I'm going to have to give in and get one. I have a 30GB iPod Video at the moment, but I'm going to sell it on Ebay. I just can't resist the iPod Touch. I've noticed a few people complaining about the price, but I think it's actually quite cheap when you consider the features it has. Anyway, as soon as my University loan goes into my account I'm going to get one lol!

Nope.

Too expensive.

Not enough storage.

Doesn't support DivX.

My next player will be this bad boy here.

(The European version is rumoured to have wifi built in so no dongle required like you see on the Korean version on there)

Hmm I think I might. 1GB has been fine for me for a year and a half, so 16GB should do. Cover flow should be pretty cool to show if off

I don't see how the iPod Touch is expensive, considering it comes with Wi-Fi and many other features.

I sort of agree with you about the storage not being enough. However, if people want something with larger storage than there's the iPod Classic.

I agree with you about DivX. That's the only major disadvantage in my opinion though. I don't really like the look of the player in the link you provided. I think the iPod Touch looks much more sleek and attractive.

I am. It's my 21st in November and I think I'll get a 16GB one. It's about time I upgrade, I still have a 3G one!

No, not enough storage. If they introduce a HDD based one, then i might consider it.

However, if there was a 16GB iPhone, I might get that for the convinience of one device...

I've still got a 3G too, think I'm also going for a 16GB Touch. Will keep my 3G in the car I think, it's served me well.

iPhone is tempting, hopefully will know all the details of pricing before I have to make a definate desicion.

So the touch 'looks' better?

On you go then. I'll take the player with massively higher spec, massively better format support, massively better screen etc etc.

It's bigger, yes, but if you want a 5" high-res screen (which I do) then you accept thats it's going to be a slightly larger player. Have seen the two side by side and it's slightly bigger than an Archos 500/600 series. Given the spec, I can live with that.

No. It's too big and I really don't see the point of the wifi/browser bit. Pust keep it as an ipod, it doesn't need to do lots of other things.

I wanted something more (old) nano sized or a smidge bigger but not full ipod size.

I'll be waiting for the next gen on those.

Well, my waiting for iPhone is entirely dependent on the eventual price/tarriff of it's release, obviously.

Yes at nearly £500???
Dont you know you pay more for more memory? Any gadget can be upgraded for more money.

I have had my ipod 1st gen nano for 3 years and its still going with only 2GB. I honestly dont think anyone can have a massive music collection bigger than 16GB or even 8GB and yes videos take up loads of space but for me the video part isnt the important part of the itouch. The tocuh screen and wifi is. If i want to watch video i will put it on and take it off after im finished. I dont need 40GB+ for a PORTABLE music player

I am getting one. Anyone know when they will ship? Appple says 28th but some trusted ebay sellers say they will have them in stock on the 21st. Any chance of getting one earlier?

P.s if i order from apple. Will it arrive on 28th? or will it be dispatched on 28th and take the apple usual 1 week delivery?

That price point isn't confrimed yet.

I've seen websites quoting around $550 USD for for the 60gb version. In which case, I'll do what I did with the A2 and ship one in from the US.

It will doubtless be way overpriced in the UK ... as most things are.

Not enough space for me so I'm not getting 1 (just now anyway) maybe in future although I don't see the point of it really as I got a 30GB ipod video last christmas and barely used it (with a docking station too) made 100 quid for it (yep maybe could have made more on ebay)

I was going to get an iPod touch and upgrade from my current iPod video, however the lack of space on the touch is now making me get a new iPod Classic, I will wait until a bigger flash size comes to the touch

Nope

Very happy with my 80GB ipod video, so the chances of me forking out for the Touch is less than none, plus not enough memory for me atm.

The money saved for buying touch screen could prob be better spent getting the new 160GB classic ipod which is MUCH more value for money IMHO. Saves buying a ipod which would be quickly filled up.

I'd really like one, it looks great (i know, pathetic! ) and the touchscreen looks like it'll be fun!!

Will it only play video downloaded from the iTunes store?

I notice that someone said it doesn't support DivX, i'm not going to buy stuff from iTunes so i can watch it anywhere when i've already bought the DVDs!!!
