Wouldn't matter if you did lie - you're logged on their computer. When I phoned yesterday to find out if all the emails had gone out she said she'd have a look to see if I had got tickets and was able to tell me exactly what shows and tours I'd been to over the last couple of years as they were all on the screen in front of her.

Do they print your name on the tickets and then ask for ID when you get there? If they don't then obviously you could get a load of people to try for you or even just give a false name. I don't think they check that closely to be honest.

they print your name on the ticket yes but dont ask for ID or they didnt last year - of course this year might be different

I don't think they're that picky, it's just that every time you actually get allocated tickets for something, it gets noted on their database. The names are printed on the tickets but I don't remember that they actually checked that you were who the ticket said when we went last year.

they didnt check the name no just the fact that you had a ticket for the right day!! LOL but your name is printed on the ticket

As for the production guests - mostly unavoidable really. It's just the way the business works.”

their details would be checked with details already on the system to clarify

i went in seris 3 before it got really really popular - I got tickets by applying on line, very easy, and I went more than once. It was brilliant, I'm afraid to say, but the queuing was a total pain - we were lucky it was just cold and wasn't actually raining - can you imagine??? Plus it seemed to get earlier and earlier each time. I also went to some strictly dance fever shows - and was lucky to be there when Anton and Erin did the guest dance.

There is an art to getting upstairs and so seeing more, also they don't mind cameras for AFTER the show, and don't mind you mingling with the stars after the show.

I know I'm lucky I've been - but I have watched since the very start of seris one. I wish everyone luck who has tickets that they get in and have as much fun as I did.

It's probably a good job I haven't got tickets... mingling with the stars after the show. I would probably faint. Or at the very least lose the power of speech. Phew!

I never actually thought for a moment that I wouldn't get tickets. But not a word anywhere from anyone, so I guess I'm not lucky enough to go this year. I can't believe it...

Last year, they wouldn't let us go and meet the stars they were quite mean about it actually. I did get to meet Ian Waite though, he was signing his dvd. He's really tall!!!!

Did they let the production guests hang around afterwards, though?

Yes, they did. If they're mean about it and tell you the public all have to go now, just pretend you're a production guest and look like you know what you're doing and it should be okay.

we couldn't we were on the top bit, so we had to go round the curtain and stuff at the back, tried to squeeze through, but they wouldn't let us. I was gutted, I wanted to meet Lilia and Darren

thats a shame - as someone else said, when I was there in series 3 I just marched on in as if I owned the place past everyone from behind the curtain.

Glad I'm not going if the beeb are just messing everything up for us real fans.

I'm going as a guest of Hanna Karttunen so I should be okay to hang around afterwards then? Or will they boot me out as well instead of letting me wait for her?

I would imagine as a guest you are highly unlikely to get booted out!!

I hope not, I want to be able to stay there to harrass her after the show!

Of course I wouldn't . . .

LOL I am sure you will be fine - its the mere mortals they want to get rid of (in the nicest possible way) not the guests!

Ah, well we squeezed through the curtain unnoticed, luckily!

We were in the top bit last year but managed to sneak through the curtain onto the dance floor afterwards and chatted to Emma and Darren. Ian was being interviewed so we didn't get a chance to speak to him (it was the week he and Mica were knocked out) but everyone was just milling around and taking photos and no-one seemed too upset that we were on the dance floor.

Unfair, it seemed they had a member of production or security staff there the week we went

Yes, they added the security guards later in the series. Don't think it stopped us, though...

I think the key is to act like you're meant to be marching onto the dancefloor - I went later in the series and there are only a few security guards, very easy to get round them, just look confident. Also, it helps to be sat in the ground floor audience, as the access is quicker after the show.
