Well I queue overnight for Wimbledon every year so I'm prepared from that point of view! Just wondered how long to prepare for IF I'm lucky enough to get tix.

Thanks for the tip off!

That's okay

Last year my friend bought her portable dvd player and we shamelessly watched old episodes of scd while we were waiting!

I know Bruce had 4 tickets per week one series so guess that will apply to each contestant too - quoted by Brendans babe!

The pros get 2 tickets each, and the celebs get 4 tickets each, not sure about the production staff think its 2 each.

Can't wait for Thursday 20th Sept as we will all know whether we have tickets or not - according to the BBC.

Reading other posts, can someone confirm whether it's true that even if you receive a ticket you will not necessarily get in, if so do they know why not?

Thanks

Very true - they give out more tickets than there are places to ensure a full studio in case people who are issued with tickets can't make it.

lol I think we might do that this year (if we get tickets), and bring chairs. Last year I wore my knee high FMB's and my legs were killing. By the time we got in the studio for the results show, I had cramp, so I was kicking my legs, and Len was watching me

It's not always that early. I went on a different week, arrived quite a bit later, and was still first in the queue.

They usually issue more tickets than seats to ensure the studio is full even if there are no-shows. However, this may not be the case this year with the ticket ballot.

You'll get full details if you're lucky enough to get tix, no doubt.

I've just had an email from the BBC telling me the closing date for applications for tickets to SCD5 has now passed! But according to the letter I received, the closing date was Tuesday 18th. Maybe they had so many replies they've decided to close it early

Apparently the lucky ones will be told on Thursday 20th and if you don't hear, you won't have any tickets. Fingers crossed everyone

They must have closed early because I printd it out and it said "wll remain open until Tues 18th Sept", but I'm sure they updated it coz I do think I saw 5pm somewhere - but its gone now, so its just figures crossed.

I hope I get tickets - but to be honest I'll be glad when its over on Thurs and we just know who has been lucky.

i just got all excited. I got an email from BBC tickets - but it just said thanks for the application and that due to the overwhelming reponse they would be picked at random and I will hear on Thursday only if I am sucessful.

Yeah, I received the same e-mail. Fingers crossed! I'm glad it's a lottery I think I selected a date mid season - I think those are the more entertaining shows and you've gotten to know the celebs better, wider variety of dances too, and not too close to the final. I hope I hope I hope I get tickets

I went to the BBC last night to see A Question of Sport being recorded (I know it's not quite the same thing!) but the first 200 in the queue with tickets were guaranteed entry, whilst the rest were given 'standby stickers'. Once we were all in and seated, they worked out how many of the standbyers they could squeeze in. Most got in, but some were unlucky. It's definitely worth arriving earlier than the tickets say.

at what point were they garenteed entry? When the tickets were posted to them?

I was lucky enough to get tickets last year and was amazed how many production guests there was. Maybe if they cut down on them more of the real fans could get chance to see it live. It quite clearly stated on the tickets NO JEANS and to dress smart. Most of the people were in jeans and some just looked they were going to the supermarket. They didn't make a effort where one guy I was sat next to was in a dinner jacket. If the fans can make a effort why can't the production guest's. I hope against hope that I get tickets for this year but can't see it somehow until they start giving out more tickets to the people that matter I.E. the fans

Did the later ones who didn't get in not get priority entrance for the following week? That's how most tv audiences work. Of course this means it's usually not a good idea to apply for the last show of a run, because there is no "next week" to get bumped to.

Oh how I agree with you - we made a huge effort to "dress up" as per the instructions on the tickets, and the people we were queueing with did the same - in fact as we took our seats one of the production staff complimented us on being "dressed up". Yet the people they were interviewing who had production tickets were proper scruffy in tatty jeans etc and yet they were sat on front rows in full camera view
