Question about Samsung HDTV

Guys i have a samsung le32r8 and HT-TX35 home cinema dvd player. I have downloaded a few HD programs (1080), but when I try to play it says resolution exceeds 800 * 600! I changed the settings on the dvd players (holding HD) to change, but it still wont play these files. I thought with the tv and dvd player spec it would be able to play these files. Can anyone help me with this?

It's not an HD DVD player, so why should it play HD movies?.

No, I download a HD video file with 1080 resolution. My player is an upscaler playing up to 1080 via the hdmi cable, it wasnt a hd dvd. I actually just found the solution. My book says th player only plays DIVX encoding authorised by DIVX networks, and divx files created by users or with pixels higher than 800*600 wont play. Got my answer I suppose
