Scott Maslen is the best if god was an actor it would be him. he was great as Phil Hunter was gutted when he left the Bill. But am delighted he is in eastenders 2 lighting up the most boring soap around. Go Jack u legend.

He's very entertaining to watch, I still prefer the roughish corupt Phil Hunter, hope EE doesn't just make him a very nice character.

EastEnders 2/11/07 - Ronnie and Jack get busy... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

... busy playing poker, obviously! Tuh, dirty minds?

Friday 2nd November, 2000 to 2030 GMT, BBC One.

Ronnie prepares for her poker game with Jack as well as formulating a plan with Roxy to get Peggy out of The Vic for the night. Jack, however, has other ideas and invites Patrick and Pat along to play, too.

Roxy asks Shirley if she can work the night – but when she finds out about the poker game, she asks Roxy for £200 to keep quiet. The pair strike a deal.

As the game begins, Ronnie wins the first hand. The tables, however, soon turn as Jack starts winning, pulling ahead in the money stakes. Roxy's worried and tells Ronnie during a break that she thought the idea was to win £4k, not lose it!

Ronnie lets Roxy in on a secret – Jack's cheating! She returns to the table and tells him that she wants to raise the stakes and pulls a wad of cash out of her handbag. Mo rushes downstairs to tell everyone about the big money that's being thrown around upstairs in the pub and it's not long before everyone heads to the living quarters.

Peggy, however, returns home and is shocked to see nobody in the bar. She asks Carly where everyone is and immediately heads upstairs. Peggy's shocked to see her cash on the table and grabs for it – but Jack tells her that Ronnie's committed, the money's on the table. But does Ronnie have the winning hand?

Elsewhere, Jean tricks Sean into returning home when she tells him that she's gone; Shabnam lies to her mum by telling her that she's signed up for a business management course when she's signed up for something else; and Zainab is upset about Syed not turning up for the meal and takes her anger out on everyone else. This posted in another thread.

Looks good.

Hope Jacks popularity grows, one thing I'm dissapointed, I dont want Jack to be too nice to people, get back the Phil Hunter we know.

It was a great episode, wasn't sure if Ronnie was going to win though, really looking forward to these two developing.

Definitely...ooooh im agreeing with you too much...but seriously last nights episode with Sean losing it over Jean and Ronnie and Jack having the poker game was brilliant. Didnt think for a second that Ronnie was going to pull it out of the bag after seeing Jacks cards...i thought it was ball game over for her.

Another brilliant episode by the EE producers.

It seemed there was a cross over with The Bill and EE in Jack's first episode coz he seemed exactly the same character, in the same clothes and happened to be a cop. I liked him in the Bill tho so glad he's still cheeky and a womaniser. Be good if Sam (Lisa Maxwell) from The Bill followed him. Not really sure about Jack and Ronnie as a couple I'd prefer him with Tanya, but then I like Sean and Tanya together.

Jack the only actor in there has natural acting ability, has very good sense of humour, I still like the sweet Phil Hunter of The Bill.
