He's professionally trained in the marine before getting injured, and did many action drama's before the Bill, he was in Lock Stock series as the main character and was Claude Speed in the 8 minute Video of GTA2. So he should be pretty tough.

I think he deserves the hardman character, after all he did many big hits action Dramas like Lock Stock, and the only actor in Eastenders to have a marine background in reality, lets wait and see.

I never watched The Bill until I saw DS Phil Hunter.

I just hope he isn't a copy of DS Phil Hunter in The Bill.

I wouldn't like if they make scott an Alfie like character as that would be boring, the new bad boy of Eastenders would be great, but something different for Phil Hunter of The Bill.

Highlight of the night? I think chatting to Scott Maslen. I've high hopes for his character (Jack Branning) and, from what I heard last night, he's not going to be catapulted into the action. Instead, he'll be simmering along until things - and people - start crawling out of the woodwork.
