Does anyone know of a relatively cheap(ish) Freeview PVR which has HDM output? Preferably twin tuner, too.

The reason I want this is because I currently have Virgin Media's V+ service but I realise that I don't watch anything that isn't on Freeview so it seems pointless paying for it.

Ideally, I'd like HDMI output because it looks a lot better than SCART does on my TV.

Any ideas? I had a quick browse and I can find some decent ones, but often with one thing missing (i.e. no HDMI or only 1 tuner).

Make sure you use RGB on your SCART, and your TV supports it on the socket you're using - RGB SCART is already far higher quality than SD transmissions (or DVD etc.), so HDMI shouldn't make any (or much) difference!.

I tried RGB, amongst every other possible setting for SCART and there is something subtly better about HDMI. One main thing is aspect ratio. You can always guarantee that the aspect ratio will be fine with HDMI, whereas with SCART it can often display the wrong aspect ratio, which is annoying.

My TV isn't anything special, in fact it's seemingly just a computer monitor with SCART, HDMI, a TV tuner etc... This is probably why HDMI looks better than SCART.

There's some cheap Freeview boxes with HDMI, but I can't find one with a PVR with twin tuners, well, one which is relatively cheap (i.e. <£200).

Hi Carmen, try these from Argos (just a search on set top boxes/pvrs). I noticed that there were more HDMI connected boxes these days.

They used to be a major speaker manufacturer, but now it's just a name used on cheap imported crap! - it's quite probably a Vestel set?.
