Hi all, I'm very close to purchasing the Toshiba 37X3030DB and wanted to check whether you agree with the below connections before I puchase the wrong cables! Below is my plan:
Topfield PVR - RGB Scart
Nintendo Wii - Component cable
Xbox (original) - VGA cable
Xbox 360 elite - HDMI

I guess my main question mark is around the original Xbox. I haven't ditched it as I use the functionality of XBOX Media Centre a lot but I'd like to get the best picture with it (the TV only has 1 Component and RGB Scart input). Any other suggestions?

Also as a side question, I have a 5.1 Surround Sound system. Can I get a VGA cable for the Original Xbox which also has optical out? I want to get the best possible sound quality from all my devices too!

Thanks in advance

Hi Jimmy, thanks for the reply. No I'm not using an AV receiver, my 5.1 surround system is the Philips FR984, it can carry a video sinal but from what I know its not particularly good quality (Scart only).

I run the 360, Pioneer 1080P upscaling DVD player and V+ box through the AV Receiver (and 5.1 speaker system) on my Yamaha AV61 package.

Works really well with the 2 optical outs and digital coax.

Might be worth considering looking at an AV receiver due to the amount you want to hook up (no point having a good TV and loads hooked up if it doesn't sound good or you are forever changing wires over)

If you don't want the added expense then you could seek a VGA cable with optical out for the Original Xbox, but I don't know if they made them?
