There's no thread about this already? is it breaking news?

Just heard it on radio 1 news, Jim Davidson walked out after being accused of being homophobic by Brian Dowling.

The Sun have a story up:

http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2...420211,00.html

Spoiler
JIM DAVIDSON left Hell's Kitchen today after a heated row with Brian.

On tonight's show, viewers will see the events leading up to Jim's departure which began during service last night.

Referring to a look he thought had been given by a table of diners, Jim said to Paul and Brian: "Why do shirt lifters pull that same face?"

"Please don't say shirt lifters it's really rude," Brian responded.

"I don’t care," said Jim "Gay men have the same look… It's a sort of preen."

After a series of heated exchanges, the notorious comic claimed that Brian was playing the homophobic card, and branded him a "f*****g disgrace".

"I am equal to you Jim in everything we have ever done," said the 29-year-old.

Jim replied: "Sure – that’s what GAY stands for – Good As You. I know that."

Brian finished: "Jim don't say that, I am Brian, not Good As You.

"I'm literally speechless. Empty, disgusted and the most vulnerable I have ever felt in my whole life."

See the row on ITV1 tonight at 9pm.

Maybe explains the 10 minute 'technical difficulties' last night if that's when it kicked off.

I've just read that on the ITV site - best news of the day For the sake of those who want to watch it unravel tonight I'll put the article in a spoiler

Spoiler
Jim Davidson left the show today following a series of altercations which came to a head in a row with Brian last night.

Tonight we will see the events leading up to the comedian’s departure, which began as Kelly sipped champagne with Angus following her sacking.

Having survived the public vote for the second time, Jim returned to the kitchen, saying that he thought he’d been given a funny look by a table of diners. “Why do shirt-lifters pull that same face?” he asked Paul and Brian.

“Please don’t say shirt-lifters,” a shocked Brian replied. “It’s really rude.”

“I don’t care,” Jim insisted. “…Some gay men have the same look.”

“What look?” Brian asked. “Do I do have that look?”

“No, only when you put it on,” Jim explained. “It’s a sort of preen.”

And later on in the garden after service, the row flared up again when a horrified Brian asked Jim to explain himself further.

“Why do you have to play the homophobic card?” Jim protested. And despite Paul’s best efforts, the bust-up ballooned yet again.

“How can you say that to me?” Brian sobbed. “I am sitting right beside you. I am an equal to you Jim, in everything we have ever done.”

“Sure – that’s what GAY stands for,” Jim sneered. ‘Good As You’. I know that.

“Jim don’t say that,” Brian protested. “Jim, I am Brian – not ‘Good As You’. I am an equal to you. You are being really, really horrible to me now …Why can’t I be Brian and you be Jim?”

Brian then broke down in tears, and Adele and Abbey tried to lead him out of the room. “I won’t walk away” he protested. “I won’t be as Good As You. I will be BAY – Better Than You.”

Does Jim Davidson realise this is 2007 and not 1907

I just hope Brian doesn't come across badly (aka crying, banging on about it endlessly etc), or give his detractors any reason to blame him.

No tears Brian, no tears.

Thank god for this - I loathe than man and am glad he's gone!

I wonder if this is why the show was off air for some 10 minutes lat night? Technical difficulties, or Jim making a complete arse of himself and abusing Brian? I wonder?

He's been rude to Brian since day 1 and I hope he gets some serious abuse from the public after his appalling behaviour! He's clearly homophobic, and has made some unnecessary and pathetic comments to Brian regarding his sexuality - even though the things he's said have been underlying and he hasn't actually come out with what he really thinks of Brian, we ALL know what he means, and we ALL know he's a rude, ignorant, homophobic cretin!

No doubt his exit will ALL be blamed on Brian and he will be made to feel somehow guilty!

This has now made my otherwise shitty day great!

I agree with you, Brian does himself no favours by going on about it all the time and crying.

But if the spoiler is correct and Jim did say those things, then he has gone too far.

Damn! Wish I'd watched the live feed on Sirius 5e last night! Although they may have edited it out at source.

I was saying that the other day (but then I am biased)...he has been assertive without in any way being aggressive, and that has impressed me.....mind, remembering him in BB2, he needed to grow up some!!

Does anyone think JD would have timed it for 9.00? live TV?

I wouldn't put it past him. Perhaps that's what caused the delay last night.

I agree about Brian too. He was a bit irritating on BB but I quite like him now.

I like the way he has turned Marco round to liking him too. When they first met Marco seemed to ignore him, but now he seems to like him and is giving him a lot of praise for his cooking. I like the way he laughed with him when Brian was attempting to drink that Oyster cocktail.

Of course now everyone will say Brian was milking it but I don't blame him after reading what Jim said. What an idiot JD is and I wonder if Marco tried to stop him again.

Yeah, perhaps Angus will mention it too!

This may seem an odd question, but does anyone know - when someone chooses to walk out of a programme like this, what happens about his fee?

If you walk I don't think you should get one but he probably will.

Good thinking. A most unpleasant man. I don't buy into the apologists for him who argue that he is one of the 'old brigade' of comics. I've seen many comedians who are of the older generation who wouldn't dream of using the type of bigotted language he does. Far better comediens, too; ones such as Michael Palin or Terry Jones.
