Is there an easy way to erase data from a phone?

Hi all,

I'm about to send 4 different phones off for firmware updates.

There are 3 Nokia's 6100, 6230 and 6230i - which is my main phone. And a Samsung Z400 which I've just acquired.

My question is - is there an easy way to make sure all data is deleted from the phone - contacts, texts, ringtones, pictures, etc - just by leaving the battery out or something for a day or two?

If it's as simple as leaving the battery out, does anyone know how long I need to leave the battery out for for the memory loss to take effect?

Thanks,

Steve.

Leaving the battery out wouldn't work. Unless you wait for decades.
Many phones have a factory reset or master clear which will do what you want. Consult your manual for the details.

with nokias you can do a master clear as with samsungs -

In the samsung it should be in settings>master reset>master clear

the nokia i believe it should be *#7370# Although that may be different for the older range of handsets

the password for the nokia is normally 12345 and the samsung i believ is 00000000 or 0000
