Brian doesn't realise that he isn't doing gays any favours.
He knows that reality shows are often won by getting the sympathy vote, and he can have a breakdown on tap at the slightest thing.

But by kicking JD off, it just makes gay people look like ultra-sensitive beings who can't stand up for themselves, who need to be surrounded with girls crying over them, and who have to be protected and pandered to..

Let the public make up their own minds about who is real or fake, about who stays and goes..

I dont think 'hosting' one of ITV play rip off quiz's can be classed as success !!
As I said I cannot abide either Davidson or Dowling, however Davidson I would say has the advantage of being a success, albeit in the past.Gen Game & Big Break did pull in 10m audience in his day.Dowling...1m if your lucky

[quote=calais;18008143]Brian proved how manipulative he had been in his conversations with Davidson by his obvious glee that he had forced Davidson's departure.
Even in his glee he was petulant.
I don't give a fcuk that he is gay, Brian is just a very, very nasty human being.
Send him back to obscurity.[/QUOTE
Is that the graveyard slot on ITV 1 ?

I think the thing that did Brian no favours was the way he was almost gloating, along with Adele when Jim left. It was kind of like he had been plotting for days to get Jim thrown off the programme and he had succeeded so he came across as a bit smug.

I didn't agree with Jim's behaviour but I think that Brian acted a bit childish when Jim left.

I also thought that it didn't reflect well on Brian when he ripped up Jim's farewell note. Even if he didn't believe it was sincere he shouldn't have done that it just made him look petty.

I read somewhere that Brian's odds for winning had now dropped and that Barry is now the favourite.

Gay he is, defenceless he ain't. First few times Jim's 'gay' comments, Brian used humour as a defence. It got worse, Brian was clearly offended by the 'shirtlifter' comment & again defended himself.

Sorry, but I didn't hear Brian doing anything for the "gays" - I heard him trying to stand up for himself to an offensive oaf. He is not a representative, he is an individual - his actions shoud be therefore treated as such.

I really wish people would quit this. Brian is one gay person. An individual, who has campness as part of his personality. He does not represent gay men. Gay people know this, why can't others?

As for your second bit, he did stand up for himself, the others tried to comfort him as humans do. The other blokes weren't exactley on Jim's side either.

Sorry but when some ignorant antequated prat like JD thinks it is acceptable to say what the Hell he likes about people and refer to them in whatever way he likes without even knowing them, then he deserves to get the reaction Brian gave. I am no Brian fan, in fact I have little time for the man. But JD is an abhorant man who has basically gained fame through making digs about people in minority groups, with disabilities etc.

Brian acted like a footballer who has been fouled and then proceeds to roll around on the floor in apparent agony until the offender gets sent off.
That's what it looked like to me.

oh end of.

I did find Brian's behaviour after JD left to indicate that he had slightly manipulated the situation to get rid of Jim.

It was like a child who cries and cries until they get something and as soon as they get it they start laughing.

I don't deny he was offended and upset by JD's remarks but on a number occasions they seemed to drop the subject only for Brian to bring it up again.

It was Adele that was jumping about because Jim had left, Brian was repeating what she had said and others joined in, they were all relieved he had gone. How can you manipulate someone being as rude as Jim was, well done Brian you took him on.

Jim Davidson reminds me of the Keith Chegwin character in Extras...

Agreed,it does seem like these glorified 'Ladies of the night' types WAG,ala Danieeeele Llyod & Adele seem to be totally self absorbed, talentless,& totally vile creatures.Must be all that vertical athletics & shopping.
Perhaps these 'WAGS'..although I can think of a much more suitable name for them..but cant type it on this board, should be villified on TV instead of being made into role models.

I liked Adele at first but she's coming across as a bit snide and bitchy, and also desperate to win (I think she thinks because Jennifer Ellison won it she has a good chance).

I really hope that Barry wins as he seems a really nice guy who isn't getting involved in all the cattyness.

I think Barry has been great.

I don't think we saw half of what went on in the argument. Paul had his head in his hands and Barry has often talked of Jim picking on everyone, especially the 2 girls.

However, to be fair to him, I believe he genuinely though Good As You was a compliment.

Brian over-reacted, but Jim is a 54 yr old man and should know that we can't always voice an opinion. It's all about respect for those around us. I think a colleague at work is ugly - but do I go up to her & tell her - just because it is my opinion and I have a right to voice that opinion ? I know homophobia is more serious than that, but I was just trying to respomd to Jim's 'I can say what I like'

No nor do I, I think Jim joined Brian, I read that somewhere, so he probably brought up the SL remark again, who knows, I still think it did Jim a favour to get him to leave.

There was a film on TV recently about someone who became unable to tell a lie and therefore had to say what he thought, the complete mess this made of his relationships etc may have been hilarious as a comedic film but just imagine if everyone was like that in real life.

We expect people who serve us to show good manners whether in shops, restaurants etc, car rage is an example of what happens when this politeness breaks down. freedom of speech may be a nice idea but in practice it needs limits to prevent the complete collapse of civil society

I find it amusing when people refer to themselves and people like them as "normal" as a disabled person I do not think I am normal, I see myself as better than that.

Sorry, but we hardly live in a PC world, as your comment above demonstrates.

Some people still think it is acceptable to use language that is homophobic. If it had been a racist term would you think that was acceptable?

It is sad that people use the expression PC as a term of abuse - for me it means simply being aware of the impact your language can have on others.

Abusive language is abuse language and should simply not be condoned.

Totally agree: normal is as normal does - one person's normal is another's outandish. We all don't have to like everyone, but we should accept that just because someone is different to us doesn't mean they are automatically worth less.
