Help. what cable do i need to connect xbox 360 to hdmi?
I have a HDMI Female to DVI-I Male Adaptor in the back of my phillips tv from that runs sky hd, which has hdmi to hdmi. i have just bought a splitter box (link) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MEWA:IT&ih=019 i have connected the hdmi cable to this box and sky hd. how do i connect my xbox 360? it has a dvi connection with 4 pins around the 1 long pin and the splitter box does not allow for that. any help guys will be appreciated.

I think the 4 pins are used for DVI-Analog or DVI-Integrated, I think you can just snap these pins off

Or just buy a lead without these pins. You need a DVI-D cable. The extra four pins are for a VGA output. However a DVI-D plug should be physically compatible with the socket on the X-BOX. It just won't connect to the analogue pins.
The only other choice you have to make is between dual and single link. This webpage shows the various flavours of DVI connector. http://www.interfacebus.com/Design_C...e_DVI_Bus.html As you can see there are subtle differences between single and dual. Just buy whichever cable matches the sockets on the X-BOX and switch. |
