Digital Cameras

Hi,

I am going to purchase a new digital camera tomorrow. I have narrowed it down to a few choices:

> Canon IXUS70: http://www.cameras.co.uk/reviews/canon-ixus-70.cfm

> Panasonic FX07: http://www.ukdigitalcameras.co.uk/prod.asp?i=3533

> Panasonic FX12: http://www.digital-cameras.com/xpp-p...umix_fx12.html

> Casio EX-Z75SR: http://www.casio.com/products/Camera...Zoom/EX-Z75SR/

I am leaning towards the Canon but any advice would be appreciated. It's OK reading reviews/plugs etc... but anyone had any first hand experience with any of them?

I've got a predecessor to the Canon (the Ixus 750) and it's a cracker. The only of your choice with an optical viewfinder, which I find still comes in handy.

I've had some use of the Casio, and I really like it too. The interface is very intuitive, and PQ seems very good. In fact any of the four are excellent. I think it'd still be the Canon for me though. Macro mode in particular is very good (see http://flickr.com/photos/russellelly/132783699/ for a macro of mine taken on the 750).

You can't beat a canon! They make great cameras imo.

I've got the Ixus 60 which is a lower spec and older model than the 70 and it's brilliant, it's about the size of a pack of cards slips into your pocket and takes top notch photos.

Heres a few I took on my holiday in Vegas, the crappy blurred ones are more the user (i.e me!) than the camera, but you can see even someone who's got no idea on photography can take decient snaps.

I've had 2 Canons (Powershot S30 and now the Ixus 800IS) and would not go for anything else.

My friends have had Sony cameras and the pic quality is not even close (even to my old Canon).

Went for the Canon in the end - it's amazing.
