My initial heart says Stephanie Beacham as she has always come across as a really nice classy person IMHO.

I would love James to do well because he really amused me last year. Brian well for the CS kill your ex wife scene I just say Arlene watch out if Brian carries a spade

Don't know about her commitment but this snippet is from Ephraim Hardcastle in today's Daily Mail :

"Rod Stewart's amazonian wife Penny Lancaster has been chosen as one of the celebrity contestants in the new series of SCD. Friends tell me that 6 foot Penny is somewhat clumsy when tripping the light fantastic and has admitted her size ten feet are her least favourite feature. Penny, 36, can take heart from the fact that Greta Garbo also had unusually large feet. Garbo abandoned her film career in 1941 after moviegoers jeered her attempt at dancing in Two-faced Woman. Surely the British public would not be so ungallant towards Penny."

Penny wanted to stay in the states to celebrate step-childrens birthdays apparently. However, according to Ian's web site he's gone to LA to train with her. As for the feet thing, let's wait and see eh?

Life can be difficult for anyone who's outside the 95th percentile size wise, so it must be a slight disadvantage. Hence on the underdog principle I'd like to see her do well. Zoe Ball was pretty under confident and thought she was too tommy and ungainly for SCD, but Ian's a great coach and they didn't do too badly at all. So who knows!

Don't mean this to sound sarcastic or flippant, but large feet might actually help with stability!

I don't see any of the pros as shy and retiring and they all want to win and will do everything they can to get votes .
I will be watching out particularly for the celebs who have no dance training at all , which probably gets rid of most of the ladies !”

Oh I know, and I'll probably change my mind when I see them dance, as I did last year. But I love Matt, I think he's a wonderful dancer and a lovely guy so he'll get my vote no matter what Alesha is like. I like John Barnes and Nicole is great so they're up there too. Similarly I think Darren usually gets the best out of his celeb with choreography that really suits them and Letitia seems really nice in any interviews I've seen with her so I hope they do well. And Flavia is just fabulous. The most elegant dancer on the show.

I understand what you're saying about Karen, but she did come across a little OTT on occasion last year and irritated me. It's not something specific to Karen either, Camilla does it all the time and its the main reason I don't particularly like her. Thats why my favourite pros are the ones who tend to be quite calm and laid back most of the time - Matt, Ian, Flavia, Lilia, Nicole.

Nicole is apparently very pleased with John Barnes as her partner .
I'd like to see her do well .

I agree she is sometimes too full on, but you have to remember that she spent so long out of the competitive circle that I think a little excitement is OK!

Wasn't she a Judge? So she was still *in* the competitive circle as such, just not competing herself, just Judging most of the other pros who appear on SCD.

Yes, she still is a judge and has always remained very much a part of the competition circuit - she just missed dancing and competing herself, which is understandable considering it was such a big part of her life for so long.

Winning last year and dancing again was a huge thing for her . Judging is a very important part of her career , but it's not the same as dancing .

I believe Mark and Karen are still close friends .

I've never felt she was any more competitive than any of the others , they all want to win.

Absolutely, they are all "in it to win it", they wouldn't be human otherwise and they are all competitive in their own field and in their own way .. quite frankly I wouldn't believe anyone who didn't have that desire to win ..

Someone on this morning who works with Matt Di Angelo on EastEnders said that Matt is a really good dancer, and he can tap dance
