I'm definitely calling them that from now on!

I just hope the BBC doesn't go overboard on the married couple angle. It's interesting... but at the same time I don't want every routine to be followed by "how do you feel about your husband getting two marks more than you? Does it bother you that your wife's touching another man?" etc.

What about Ken and Barbie for the Logans

how do you know, Ola only got to dance twice and the cha cha was great. and the size won't matter cos erin and peter had a big size difference but they still danced well

And let's not forget that that Spoony and Ola were bundled out controversially when the viewers saved Georgina and James at their expense.
I can still see the judges face when the results were announced

Is it not James' and Ola's fault they got put with a married couple I am a fan of theirs and I am not happy about it but I will give them a chance - re: the nickname - shall we make up nicknames for all the contestants? Regardless of whether or not they are flattering or not?Or is it just James and Ola?

I'm not saying it's their fault, I'm just saying the BBC has a tendency IMO to overwork these things. The fact that two married couples are competing is interesting in itself, I just don't want to be reminded of it every time one of them does something.

And lots of the contestants do end up with nicknames- that's how we ended up with a thread about the "Maren interview", and everyone knew what it meant!

I don't think it is Kenny Logan who is disliked-it is more his Missus who isn't popular

I prefer to call Kenny and Gabby as Kenby (sounds like some cheap instant coffee brand). Gabby is too desperate to win, and that just don't bode well for UK viewers, I think.

I believe Gab and/or Kelly will be the Emma/Zoe of SCDV.

For some bizarre reasons, I am looking forward to seeing how Lilia is going to get Dominic through his SCD *journey*, after all she's the journey-man pro dancer!

DF I'm sorry if I offended you but I actually did mean it affectionately! I know Gabby in particular has come in for a bit of abuse on DS since the press release but I'd never heard of her so I'm pretty neutral about her really. I've also not heard of Kenny but I've supported two rugby players in SCD and DOI in the past twelve months so I could see him getting my vote if he does well.

The BBC and its "angles" is one of my pet hates so again that wasn't personal to J&O.

Katie - I wasn't offended at all - I know you would never do that - however I will defend J&O but I feel that they are going to come in for loads of stick over this married couples angle and I think it is a shame because I really wanted them to have good partners this year - though I did like Spoony last year

I read somewhere that Gabby had 'a little heated argument' with her husband when they talked about SCD. I don't understand why she should be so worked up when her husband was showing her the waltz steps. And during the press conference, she just looked SO incredibly smug, as if to say 'watch out, I'll be the best dancer of this series!'. I don't know Gabby very well so these clips just put me right off her.

I know a lot of people are not warming up to Kelly, but I think so far she's still alright for me. She might start to grate on me if she's putting on the diva 'don't-you-dare-touch-me-brendan' routine all the time, or play sweet teary girl lost when the judges don't stroke her ego when she's not doing that well... But hey, I was too scarred by Jan Raven's antics last year (her being so desperate)...

Given the amount of interevies GL has done with various magazines and newspapers it's been hard to miss her-unfortunately. She's being all out to paint herself as Miss Perfect. And it's grating on people

There is a fine line between Miss Perfect and Miss Desperate.

I mean, both Mark and Matt Dawson last year were perfectionists, but I don't find them grating at all. Alright I only warmed up to Matt after the AS week, but still...

Louisa and Emma also wanted very much to win but none of them came across as desperate as Gabby. Yuk.

your bashing of gabby is becoming tiresome. if you dislike her so much why are you reading all these interview she has done and where has she tried to paint herself as miss perfect?

I am sorry, it was a report I read that talked about ALL contestants and SCDV in general. I wouldn't have bothered to read any other interviews that are exclusively about her. No way.

Still I might be proven very wrong. I stand corrected. Maybe Gabby wasn't as terrible as I read/have seen about her so far...

I apologise if I offend you, Lukey.

Hi Lukey37 - in fairness we all have strong views about different contestants/pro dancers - the beauty of this forum is that we can express them

of course and even i do but there are certain members that have more of a relentless agenda in there bashing which is uncalled, nasty and personal. that's where my problem is - not with the people have genuine criticism.

Well obviously I don't "know", this is all guess work.
Yes they danced well (in ballroom only) but of course the size difference is that extra something they have to consider that wouldn't occur if they were closer matched in size e.g that the male lead doesn't lean over because his partner is so short.
