Since some celebrities are obviously suited to either ballroom or Latin dances, the first knockout should be on a cumulative score after dancing one of each style.

It would probably not affect the final outcome much but it would be a bit fairer on the professionals as well, since they would also have more opportunity to show what they can do in both a performance and teaching capacity.

Oh gawd the series hasn't even started and all ready there are calls for Bruce to be put out to pasture..

Will people never learn, cometh the hour, cometh the man, BF will do it justice, and far better than any other presenter alive.

I didnt like the lay out of boys one week then girls then next to dance, so im not going to like it now!
I didnt like the group dances of mambo and swing!
....also the BBC got it all wrong when they all did the group dance. when the first group did west cost swing to 'think', ola and spoony and lilia and matt etc it said on the screen it was an east coast swing!
and then visa versa when erin and peter and mark and karen did the east coast swing to 'right now' they said it was west coast! grrr! it was ALL WRONG!! lol!
that annoyed me when I watched it!!!!!

although i did like the judges choice idea!! that was cool!!

Agree would not like the show with out BF and would postively stop watching if Graham Norton was on it

I would have liked to see the first few weeks done as a league with the couples awarded points for the position they come each week then, afer a few weeks eliminate the lowest 3 or 4 couples and go to the knock out system, that way at least we get to see each couple for longer and not have to knock someone out on one performance.

I have favoured the league for about the first 4 weeks but BBC probably expect more phone calls if there is the possibility of a knockout. I sometimes think that the emphasis on raising money for Children in Need is taking preference over the requirement to make the program entertainment. Everyone want to see the best dancers stay in to the latter stages and not be knocked out early on by freak voting (most people think that Spooney and even Ray went out too early last year).

There are occasional exceptions - I thought that even though Fiona Philips was uncoordinated and a hopeless dancer, she was great fun and made for a fabulously entertaining interlude.

No cricketer this season!

I heard Alec Stewart turned them down, I'm gutted!

Really? I guess he has commentary committments. Couldn't see him doing as well as previous cricketers though.

I heard him say it was for the first series and he had a lesson with Camilla, then decided against it. I guess after that they decided to give David Dickinson a call....

Oooh, juicy bit of goss, cheers!

He's a bit straightlaced Alec.

What I would like to see happen in the final is the two couples pick their best ballroom and latin, and obviously the freestyle.
But what about a slight change to the judges choice. What about the judges picking a dance for each couple that they've already done in the series

I agree tvaddict. I was surprised to hear that the people providing the commentary on Interactive, see the performance in the same way that we do at home. Swirly camera and all!

When you see what looks like all good stuff at home, yet hear a judge comment on an aspect of footwork or a bodyline that the camera missed, it is frustrating.

I've already gone on about pop music in the wrong tempo and with the wrong musicality - the right music can enhance a performance greatly and I don't understand why the beeb doesn't use a proper dance orchestra.

I also think that some new judges are required. Get rid of Bruno and Craig. I don't mind Arlene so long as she restricts her comments on the performance aspect. I'll keep Len and add two esteemed judges from the dance world, plus one guest judge, to bring the panel up to five adjudicators.

But in any case, I'm just glad to see it back on TV. I love the way that seeing celebs struggle with the experience, yet come out of it extolling the virtues and benefits of dance, leads to an increase in class sizes at the local schools.

Long may SCD continue! With or without our preferred changes!

No, but it would be worth it just to see the nutter on prime-time telly. Didn't he used to time his Weetabix or something?
