Nokia E65 on 3... problems after problems!

Thought I would consult here first before I contact 3 yet again.

I got my Nokia E65 in April on an 18th Month contract.

Since then, it has been in repair twice, and I think will have to be sent in again as now some sticker that was on the back (no idea what it was protecting!) I think has got stuck underneath the sliding mechanism and is pushing against the screen.

Firstly, it was switching itself off on random times when I slid the phone down (to close it).

Then, one of the buttons became sticky. - This may, you think, would be my fault - but let me explain.

Now, the sticker that was on the back has come off and is messing the screen up.

Finally... all around the edges of the E65... it is like the skin is peeling!!

Last time I rang 3, they said this was down to my misuse, I wasn't looking after the phone etc etc.

This is however, NOT the case. I make sure I keep it in my pocket with NOTHING else in there, to stop it getting scratched or bumped against. I have even put a screen protector on it to protect the screen.

Any ideas what to do?

As I said it has been in for repair twice already (wasting MY contract time, and I use my phone quite a bit), I just can't be bothered to have it a third time for it to mess up again.

Surely I can get a new/refurbished E65?

Otherwise, I was even thinking of buying my own phone off ebay, and sticking in the 3 sim. Would that work?

What would you guys do?

HELP!

they should after 4 times of sending it in give you a new one or replacement phone.

By any chance is it your trouser pocket you've been keeping the phone in? A jacket pocket is probably ok, but a trouser pocket is actually quite a rough environment. The material is not particularly soft, being designed to withstand coins/keys. And all sorts of gritty fluff collects there which is abrasive. When sitting down there is also a fair bit of force on the phone.
Sorry thats probably not what you wanted to hear. However, I don't see how this would have cause a sticky key, so you might get some luck with 3. You could also try a hard case like a Crystal cover, to protect the phone. Good luck with it.

Well, my jean's pocket anyway!

I do kind of understand that... but it shouldn't *really* start making all the edges around the phone start peeling. I've had many many phones and this has never happened on any of them - nor have I had this many problems with them!

Also, this sticker that has come off on the back, would not have been caused by being in my pocket as it's only exposed when the phone is slid up.

Anyways, would I be able to use my 3 Sim on another phone?

Just a correction to the above info, its the 3rd time that your phone is booked in for repair, they offer a replacement.

Re: Using your USIM in another phone, yep you can certainly do that now. 3 no longer have a restriction as to what type of handset you can and can't use. Certainly they would prefer a 3G handset, so you use their network...

Seems the phone 'falling apart' is not uncommon : http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne...0313227&size=l

I have the handset, but don't use it that much... looks like the E65 handset is not very robust.

I've got a nokia N95 and the dial and handup button silver has rubbed off from finger use, it looks a right mess.

That's not abuse, it's just ordinary use. Surely the buttons shouldn't wear that easily, only had it since it came out at the start of April.
