I agree that it could be Willie and Erin to go out the first week.
We will just have to wait and see.

hello!!!! Im new on here!!!
been reading forever...but finally...i have JOINED!!! sooooo helllllllllooooooo peeeps!

Righty ho....I dont like the idea of judging who is going to go first without seeing them dance.

Its not fair to write off Erin and Willie. Dennis taylor got the public support and satyed in for 5 weeks in series 3!
if they can get through the first week I will be happy!

I know Erin is already in love with Willie, she said he is fab so the public may well taken him into their hearts!
They are dancing waltz for the first week which I think as always Erin will present him in a favourable way

C'mon Erin! lol!!!!

Im so looking forward to this series!!!
But Im not going to write anyone off until I have seen them all dance!!

Looking at the pictures of the press conference and the vide put up by SCD-O and Katie - I noticed how uncomfortable Matt looked throughout the whole thing - he did not look happy at all

Hey there welcome to the forum ditsy nix, im in complete agreement, as we know Willie and Erin have waltz in the first week, i think they will be ok, fingers, toes and everything else crossed lol.

Erin has a knack of showing her partners off well, and not doing too much but making them look good, as they dont have cha cha i am rather hoping they will be ok!

I think Erin has a large fan base, as shown by her previous record, and hopefully Willies fans will be out. Also the sympathy votes when people are at the bottom, isnt good, look at Georgina Bourgoza last year, she stayed over Spoony.

I think if Brian and Karen get cha cha he may struggle more!!!!!

Im with Erin all the way and hope she does ok, i dont think Erin and Willie will go as far as Erin has in previous years, but if they get to week 3 then they have done well. Im glad Erin is enjoying dancing with Willie and hope it will be reflected when strictly starts!

Good luck to all of them, and hopefully the best person will win xx

Lilia & Dom to go out first ... just because it would make everyone on edge a bit and be very unexpected!

Hopefully Brian & Karen have waltz, but I really don't think he's going to be as bad as everyone is making out. (Let's see if I end up taking that one back)

I'd love to see Erin do well, as long as she doesn't get humiliated in the latin dances ... Dennis & Izabela's paso springs to mind!

Come on Nicole & John!

I think Gabby might go all the way.

I know ballroom dancing is different from rhythmic gymnastics but surely having that background will help. Sportspeople generally seem to do well in this.

She's also a dads fave that the mums like too. I reckon she's the darkhorse this year.

I agree that we shouldnt right anyone off until we've seen them dance.
Erin has a big fan base and I think her and Willie will do well in the waltz, I just hope that they dont fall foul of the middle of the table complacency.
If Erin thinks Willie is lovely then Im sure the public will too. If anyone can get him dancing its Erin especially ballroom.
I think Karen and Brian, Ola and Kenny may struggle week one but I dont want to judge the dancing until I see them.
Come on Erin and Willie
Cant wait for the new series to start!!! Not long now yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

pointless topic if you ask me! ask the question after you have seen the first show then decide - how can you possibly make a judgement before a step has been danced!

I have no idea who will leave and tbh I wont decide until I have seen the first show!

I have an idea of who I would like to leave but that person my surprise me and be the greatest dancer on the planet (unlikely) but I shall wait and see!!!!

Dont judge a book by its cover - isnt that how the saying goes??

According to the BBC Press Office it will be once again start with a boys week then a girls week - seems tough to have some of the girls having to perform a rhumba this early in the competition!

"In the first show the boys will dance to stay in the competition performing either a waltz or a cha-cha-cha whilst the girls remain safe and perform a group number.

Then it's the girls' turn in week two to dance to be in with a chance to stay as they perform either a quickstep or a rumba. The boys will perform a group number and will all return for week three when it's every couple for themselves.

From the off, the couples will face the judges and the public vote. In week one a male will go, in week two a female will go and in the third week the lowest scoring pair starts leaving the competition"

Mentioned earlier about Gabby, she was up for it last year so this year she'll be really keen !”

Have you seen Dom shake his little behind in the cha cha cha - i think Dom's a dark horse, esp with a partner like Lilia, who is a very good teacher.

I told myself I wasn't going to read threads other than the ones I usually post too as I didn't want to get into a war with anyone. But, here I am, breaking a promise to myself.

I don't want to fight with anyone but why start such a negative thread? Why can't you wait until you have seen the couples on the dance floor and give people a chance? There's enough negativity once the show starts why start with it now?

Whether you like someone or not, and we all do have our favourites, at least give everyone an equal chance and wait until you have seen them on the dance floor.

Although I don't understand why we are talking about first exits when we've not even seen the couples dance, I think you post actually add to the negativity of this thread.

Sorry.

I for one like all the speculation, conjecture, theorizing and guesswork. All this reflection and ruminating on the flimsy, tenuous bits of information to hand is great fun and I enjoy reading the general hypothesizing and thougts of others .

If it's not your cup of tea, why not just ignore the thread.

Yeah I agree I think Gabby is the darkhorse and could do it this year. I think Kenny could do well too, I'm really interested to see how this husband/wife dynamic will work.

The 'Kelly rumours' are that she already knows how to dance Ballroom. As with Bunton last series, some think that this may give her an unfair advantage.

I think it is in her bio that she went to Italia Conti and that her disciplines included dance. I also understand that her hubby let slip that she had had lessons in the past from 'someone'

No matter, a few lesson aint gong to prepare her for the amount of practice, the anxieties of performance night, plus all the aches and pains, bruises, sore feet etc!

I would say that she probably does have an edge on the performance aspect, but then she's a model who is proably very body aware and comfortable with the way it moves. I like the look of her with Brendan. In the promo pics she was one of the few who appeared to be the most comfortable.

I'm sure it was posted somewhere that she was fully trained in Ballroom , salsa and rumba .
And Setphanie Beacham is trained in Mime , has ballet training and wanted to teach dance movement to deaf children .
All the actors will have done movement and some dance and Gabby Logan was gymnast .
So that's most of them with some form of past experience !!!

I seem to be following you about Thess as I catch up on DS. I thought so too. Smile, pose - she had it all. I wish her good luck (but hope she comes second to Aleesha).

I just love all of this speculation........if you don't like it don't post on a thread like this

I am getting a little annoyed a people going on about Kelly's time at Italia Conti. Most actressess and actors that would appear on SCD would have had this type of training. Its doesn't make them professional dancers does it? She has never appeared in a Stage musical or danced in any of her tv/movie appearences so what is the problem. I would have more of a problem with Alesha that Kelly as she has preformed on stage and would have been put through her paces my a cheographer aka Emma Bunton. From what I can gather the only women that probably haven't had any stage school training are Penny, Kate and Gabby.

As we all know sportsmen and women seem to be very good at this (as Len said on DWTS yesterday) so that only leaves Penny and Kate at a disadvantage.

It is a completely open competion. I was trying to think who would be first out but to be honest I haven't got a clue.

I don't think it is always down to the celebrities anymore as some of the professional dancers have huge followings.

I really don't hav a problem with it. I only brought it up becasue another poster mentioned 'Kelly rumours' and someone else asked what they were.

You are right, almost all of these celebs have some form of advantage and I do think that sportsmen and women have the biggest advantage of all, since they are no strangers to intense training schedules.

I don't care who has done what at Italia Conti et al. It is only half the story. The other half is of course, how much the viewers like them. Jill Halfpenny had dance training when she was young and went on to win her series. Louise Lytton on the other hand, didn't.

If it came down to pure dance ability, then it would be easy to predict who'll be out first, but (as Christopher Parker will testify) there is also attitude and likeability to factor in.
