Yep - they'll be the same as the ones here. You'll just need a UK plug. Since they no longer come with wall-socket chargers (I think) that won't be an issue.

Not sure about warranty. You should check it has an international warranty (to make sure you can send it back to Apple UK if it goes wrong).

Remember to include sales tax in your calcs to see how much cheaper it is.

Yes, all current iPods come with a USB lead for syncing and charging.

Yes it is absolutely fine - you won't need anything else - it is exactly the same as you'd buy in the UK with one slight exception.

Ipods in Europe have their volume capped. Your one in the US won't be capped and so will have better volume.

Please be aware: The new iPod Classics are full of bugs. They are slow, and are incompatible with older dock products, e.g. camera connector, TV-out, remote controls, etc - just about everything.

BE SURE you ask the salesperson if the unit you want is compatible with ALL your kit.

Also be aware that many have to be returned to the place you bought it for replacement.

For that reason alone, I would buy any new Classic from a UK retatil outlet with a GOOD returns policy. (No re-stocking fees, 14 day return, etc)

I have done an enormous amount of research and decided to get a new 5.5G iPod 80GB (i.e. last year's model) to make sure all my stuff still works, and the thing performs menus quickly, and the audio doesn't skip when you use menus or EQ settings.

Most of the menu issues were fixed in a firmware update released on Friday.

Yes, but many bugs still remain, such as the Dock obsolence issue.

Always good advice:
1) Do some research BEFORE you buy.
(In this case, Apple has support forums which list the many remaining bugs.)

2) Make sure you understand the returns policy and costs. (In the USA, sellers often charge a "re-stocking" fee.)

As far as I am aware this only affect TV out cables and was insisted upon by content providers.
