There are people like me who don't have a favourite band or artist, but there are loads that have.

What is your favourite band/artist ever and why? I'm just curious.

NOTE: I don't want this thread to be filled with "OMG MCr r totaly teh HOTEST lol theyre my faves EvAH!!!!!!!!!" type posts.

Easy. Depeche Mode.

One of the first songs I ever remember hearing was Enjoy The Silence, and a lot of the bands I like now have said that a major influence has been Depeche Mode.

Plus, various bands I love have covered their songs, including Lacuna Coil's kick ass version, that apparently was so good, UKtv nicked it for a promo!

Easy Bruce Springsteen.

Solid good heartfelt lyrics on a lot of his earlier stuff. Backed by the E Street band the music gets taken to a higher level. I've been a huge fan for over 25 years. Ugh that makes me feel old.
Along with the Beatles & Dylan he's one of the most covered artists of all time.

Fall Out Boy...in my relatively few years they're the only band I've found which produce consistantly brilliant material. I like their songs, the guys in the band, everything. And just because they've not been around for 20+ years doesn't make them less talented or less worthy of this title!! They're the best group of the 21st century no doubt IMO, every single one of the 42 songs I have by them are great!

Bruce Springsteen and The Jam. Both massively influential in my life. Just great songwriting and great music.

The Beatles

The ultimate group; they changed everything and wrote some of music's greatest ever songs. Their output included rock & roll, blues, pop, ska, folk, psychedelia, country, reggae, heavy rock, Indian music, avant garde and vaudeville. Sheer class from 1962 through to 1969.

Amazingly brilliant, and Skin's solo stuff is brilliant, too.

I'm gonna have to say MCR.
No, not because "OMG MCr r totaly teh HOTEST lol theyre my faves EvAH!!!!!!!!!" as you put it!
But because I've followed them from the beginning, and their music helped me through a lot of stressful times in my life. (Changing from secondary school...bleh, to Sixthform. Starting completely afresh at college and then again at Uni)
I'm really happy to see how well they have done in the last few years and can't wait to see what the future holds!

Well if I had to pic one it would be Kylie. She was the first artist I really loved and although i don't listen to her too much these days (due to the fact i'm more into rock music now!) I still love her music and will no doubt be very into her when her new album is out
She is a great singer, great performer and a lovely lady

Alice Cooper ,brilliant songwriter, fantastic performer with an amazing stageshow.
Aerosmith , Steve Tyler rocks like no other with so much energy.
Elvis Presley , John Lennon said "Before Elvis there was nothing" I can't stand Lennon but he was right on the money with that.
The Cramps , how could anyone not love a group with songtitles like "Bikini Girls With Machineguns" and "You Better Ask My Momma How To Make A Monster" ? LOL

Placebo. No matter what new stuff I start to like I always go back to Placebo in the end. Have all their music, seen them live countless times and have met them as well. They are lovely guys.
