De-authorise knackered PC for iPod Nano???
Rubus
16-09-2007
My old pc totally packed up a few months ago & I'm getting my new Dell on Wednesday.

All my iTunes & other mp3s are safe on an external USB drive which works just fine still.

How can I de-authorise my old pc if it doesn't work anymore

Wiping the ipod is NOT an option as I don't want to lose all my playcounts & playlists etc

Any help will be mucho appreciated

"How do I deauthorize all of my computers?
If you have authorized five computers, a button labeled "Deauthorize All" will appear in your Account Information screen. This button will deauthorize all computers associated with your account. You can then reauthorize up to 5 computers. Note: You can only use this feature once a year.

View Account Information screen"

Is a good way to clear the authorisation count when you reach the limit and you can't access your old computer(s) - can't do it until you reach the max of five authorised computers but you don't really need to until that happens

Thanks for that Alex

Does that mean that I don't have to do anything at all then & I can just download iTunes & plug my nano in straight away when I get my new PC?
