I thought the dresses this week were astonishing. After last series, where they were fabulous, there must have been a change of designer. This week many seemed to be wearing slashed skirts. And not just slashed in one place, the whole skirt was cut to ribbons. Very odd, and horrible - particulary Edyta's.

Changing the subject, has anyone else fallen head over heels in love with Helio? I've watched their Foxtrot about a thousand times. I must admit I'm quite taken with him, he is so charismatic and his exuberance is charming. Apparently he has become popular with all the staff on the show, including the prof. dancers. Absolutely loved his mambo as well. Course, his cute dimples don't hurt either. ![]() Lucky Julianne, two cute guys in a row! |

OMG at the result!! What a shock!
![]() I was really enjoying Anna & Albert, it's a shame they've gone. ![]() Very sad news about Jane's Mother, but relieved to hear that she has decided to continue with the show, she is my fave female celeb, she's fabulous! Reading the blogs, looks like we've got some lovely pro demos to look forward to when they eventually come online, can't wait.

Another favourite moment.
I can watch the very last move by Marie Osmond again-and-again. That little wave (completely on beat) before she drops was fantastic. |

Even as a man, I have to admit that Helio and Julianne is a very watchable couple.
I am glad

As this thread has *SPOILERS* in the title, I don't think it's really necessary to put everything in spoiler tags, but it's up to you.

For those who have fallen in love with Helio and Julianne's American Smooth Foxtrot, here's why.
In the beginning before they dance, they were holding on to each other's hands and with one of their feet pointing at each other, forming the shape of a heart. It's a subliminal message saying that they are in love. ![]() Have to agree with Bruno for once, they played off each other very well. Once I see it as an American Smooth (and not a pure Foxtrot as such), and according to Vincent Simone AS is supposed to be a little cheesy, then the routine becomes rather enjoyable... ![]() As for their mambo, I still find it too hectic and showy. I thought mambo should be danced like cha-cha-cha, mostly cheeky and just a little tinge of sexual tension (the mambo sequence in the film version of West Side Story springs to mind)? Like Len said, it's like they have gone into an overdrive. Still, Helio's timing is spot-on with his AS and mambo, if only he relaxes his shoulders a little more in his latin dance and let that hips go (or perhaps the jacket he's wearing covered up too much of the hip actions?)... Then again, it's week two, so it's still amazing for someone to be able to achieve that kind of competency. |

I wonder if Julianne is feeling the pressure to get ahead already, due to Mark and Dereks involvement this year?
She's admitted to using week 5 choreo as Helio is doing so well. My worry is that if she's doing all the tougher stuff now and packing too much in, it just creates more pressure and expectation later on. Even she looked exhausted at the end of the Mambo! Personally, I prefer to watch a slower build up, so that you can appreciate the weekly improvement. This season seems much more intense than last and there's no characters like Joey Fatone to lighten the mood. |

You've got to show off your celebrities to their maximum potential I think. There is no point playing it safe and leaving the more impressive stuff until later, if you are then voted out in the third week. I agree it's pretty intense as it seems eveyone really wants to win ( I think Strictly is going to be like this as well from what I've heard and seen) it's a shame Albert got knocked out as he was lots of fun!
To be honest, many Mambos I have seen have been very fast and frantic, filled with lots of spins and arm links and claver tricks. I think they did a great job, but yes, they have set a very high standard for themselves. |

Reading an American blog [myoxisbroken - excellent btw, thanks gritty for the link] I hadn't realised that the men have won for the last 4 series on DWTS, being a relative newcomer to the show. Maybe that's why they agreed to have Sabrina on, aswell as to capture the youth market. But by golly, that girl moves around the floor like greased lightening!
It's incredible! And Mark is supercharged and youthful compared to the likes of Tony and Jonathan, who are bringing experience and old world charm to the show with their mature partners. I mean in reality Jane could be the Cheetah Girl's nan - the age gap is so vast. However I'm enjoying watching those partnerships very much, and frankly were I in America, would not feel inclined to vote for Sabrina & Mark, even though both their dances have been amazing. I consider Mark & Sabrina to be 2 Pros dancing together. If you had no idea which was the *Pro* and which the *celeb* out of those 2, you may say huh? She's that good.Of the men it's only really Helio that can challenge, and with Julianne's exciting, though not always perfect choreography, and amazing popularity, it may well be a male winner 5 times in a row. So much for Apollo - the King is dead, long live the King! Maks is such a conundrum. He must be aware of the criticisms of his choreography. Whilst the dismal Laila-Maks Freestyle was nowhere near as jaw droppingly awful as Colin & Erin's muppets, he must have known it seriously hurt her chances of winning, and I fear he is headed in the same direction with Mel. I've rewatched those hideous Quicksteps on a stable picture, which admittedly were danced to crap pop songs, but apart from skipping around the floor with intermittent boring box steps, I couldn't get very excited by alot of the choreo, especially Maks's. Mark & Sabrina's QS was light years ahead of all the others in terms of music choice, technique and variety of steps, though I do agree with Len, a bit of subtlety from the hectic pace would've only added to it - ie. to me this couple lack that bit of charm that will make me love them! Having rewatched the awful 99 Red Balloons QS of Albert & Anna - it was pretty bad really, so I guess no need to be soooo shocked they departed. Cheryl's outfit was worn to distract attention from Wayne's dancing - smart move - so as people get 6 votes each in the US, I'm sure that Cheryl's colourful vaudeville hat and frock garnered the throw one in for her votes. |

Here's the part of the Results Show where Tom explains very tastefully and sympathetically about Jane's Mother.
![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkG_4k4ACvk Tom is an excellent host. |

Floyd get's a mention in the Guardian. http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/sport/20...orld_ston.html Quote:
4) Floyd Mayweather has to do what is right for Floyd Mayweather; Floyd Mayweather knows that Floyd Mayweather is the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world. That's the kind of nonsense the, albeit very good, world champion and next opponent of Ricky Hatton says. Indeed, he is so big-headed that he thinks he is, and we quote, "making history" by attempting to win Dancing With The Stars while training for a title fight. Can't see Ricky teaming up with Lilia Kopylova ... yet.

I'm watching the first round repeats now on Gold; are n't I sad? Unfortunately I read some posts on here about Tues results so now I know who's 2nd to be eliminated
.It won't spoil my enjoyment tonight I'm determined, as I just lurve the dancing & find the results show too long & drawn out & usually FF it anyway. Teach me not to come on this thread from now on till Sat morn though; after the UK showing. |

Still haven't found videos of this week's Pro dances.....
![]() If the people watching the show on UK Gold can help us out, would be very pleased. ![]() Next week's dances are Jive & Tango, and Billy Ray Cyrus is a musical guest....

What was that "Ballroom Tango" supposed to be? Not a patch on Flavia & Vincent imo. I watched half of it then FF it as I found it very dull.
Very upset about the results of who was eliminated after watching him dance. It just shows you, if you have a big fan base you can get the votes. I'd never heard of that lookie-likey, poor mans version of Elvis myself (Wayne) before this show but he obviously must be big in the States. His dancing was so cringeworthy (I'll be FF him too from now on) I don't know how he got through .
