I agree, they do 'hollywood' the marks up a little don't they. Though I really though Spiderman's (Helio's) mambo really did deserve nines

Just watching this - can't believe the marks! No way was Maria Osmond's tango a 9. Even in week 1 in the UK that'd have been a 7, tops.
Problem with these marks, there is no way to go. I'ts as though they are in awe of the competitors.

I agree, I just posted that on the previous page. They are leaving no room for improvement. It will be week 4 and they'll be getting 10's.

Last season it was the same, it wasn't classed as an achievement to get a 10, it was a disappointment to get anything under a 10

I enjoyed Sabrina, Mel and Jane's performances but I think they should have been given 7's or 8's to give them something to build up to in the following weeks.

I do love Cheryl, but I think it was right of her to get Wayne , thus leaving early, as she has already one twice and was second runner up last year.

I think Sabrina needs to slow herself down when she dances, she seems very heavy footed like she is trying to break the floor or sth, and also I think she is trying too hard

Thought the woman judge was a bit sad (and not in an emotional way) when critiqueing (if you can call it that on DWTS) Jane - I felt bad for Jane too, but a bit OTT with the choking & tears.

They are obviously under instrutions to give these marks. No way would Len and Bruno give them in the UK. Must find it hard switching from one to the other.

I was trying to think what it was about her that I didn't like and it is the fact that she kind of over performs. It will be interesting to see her do a more controlled slower dance like the waltz.

Really cringeworthy, and I thought Jane was OTT, not very British.

I read that it's the Vienese Waltz or the Paso Doble. I think Helio is doing the Waltz and Floyd is doing the Paso.

I thought so too, but didn't think I should bring it up as I'm not British!

I believe it is Vienesse Waltz or Paso Doble. I don't know who is doing which dance, though.

Ah okay I wanted Helio to do Paso, but I can wait till a little later in the competition if Julianne's Paso with Apolo was anything to go by

It will probably be:

Sabrina and Mark - V. Waltz
Helio and Julianne - V. Waltz
Mel and Maks - V. Waltz
Floyd and Karina - V. Waltz
Mark and Kym - V. Waltz
Jennie and Derek - Paso Doble
Jane and Tony - Paso Doble
Cameron and Edyta - Paso Doble
Marie and Jonathan - Paso Doble

As that is the reverse of what happened this week with ballroom/latin. Some couples might be different, though.

Yes Helio's doing the Viennese Waltz, wonder if this means they're going to drop the ordinary waltz? Anyway, its a bit of a breather for his knees and ankle this week, no leaping around!!
Looking forward to his Paso and Tango, think they'll be great. Admit it will be hard to top the Paso she did for Apolo. But I'm expecting a slower intense Tango after the mauling Len gave her last time.

Yeah can imagine this will be the case as the last couple of weeks he has done jive and mambo so...still I am looking forward to any dance Helio does, if he continues to dance as good as he drives....

I like Helio the best out of the male celebs, he seems the most fun and is doing very well with the dances ..

.... but I must admit that my loyalties lie with Maks

It's not gonna happen, but I wish Sabrina would get the boot, just so's its a level playing field.
It's not right that you've got 2 pro's in a partnership, hardly fair on the other's.

He recently (earlier this year) appeared in DanceLife He was in the film of RENT and I think he's danced on tour with some pretty famous singers.

He has a music myspace (warning: takes a while to load.)

I believe he made an instructional dance video too. Here's his website.

I see your point, but the tango that people keep saying she did in Cheetah Girls 2 - has anyone actually seen it? It's not very good, it certainly wouldn't score well. She does have that extra training, but she's being judged so harshly for it (almost every time I see posts on her, not in this forum, they're saying that she's fat and dances terribly) that I don't see how it really gives her any advantage at all.

Thats Helio's attitude to his racing too, I love his whole charisma. It's technically against the rules to do that thing he does where he climbs the fences, hence the nickname Spiderman, but he does it anyway. When I see him it makes me go all gooey inside, and he is still single

Her dancing is really good - I just don't like her - glad Wayne out - he was pretty bad.

The scores may be inflated but I really enjoyed the sectiono n DWTS where they described their nerves before going on the floor.

The honesty cut through the hype perfectly.

The professionals eyes and smile. Knowing a difficiult move is coming up - but the most impressive relevation was that Floyd really appreciates Katrina's skill. Something that didn't show before that clip.

Probably because of my age etc, but I really like Marie Osmond. She's not young or skinny and she is managing to keep up and I think all her dances so far have been good value - maybe not as technicl as some, but fun!
