Yes, I think you're probably right about her being nervous. I am being rather harsh about her at the moment and mainly based on the fact I couldn't bear her when I used to watch EastEnders (and that was when Angie and Den were still in it!). Very unfair, I know.

The samba one's good, you can really check out the hip movement -I think Maks looks better in slow mo.
I'm hoping it can be done on Windows Movie Maker. I'll try one of the DWTS dances the camerawork tends to be better

I've looked up her dolls, they are quite cute, I found one I really like, she's called Harmony & looks like me when I was young & beautiful .
I did like Marie at first & loved her when I was small, she just seems to be going a bit ott in the last week.
How wierd I also sung one of her songs in a talent contest too when I was younger; "Paper Roses" .

Thanks for the sympathy re my big sis. I do miss her - used to say we got on really well because she lived in Arkansas & I lived in Scotland. I miss our fights most of all - gosh sound like Dorothy to the Scarecrow!

She is a bit OTT, but I have a soft spot for her - age/not skinny anymore/divorced/mum/businesswoman etc etc. Think maybe some of the OTTnes is to show she's still alive!

Just remembered something I meant to say about the Paso Doble (and in particular Sabrina's performance).

Although all the flailing was meant to evoke the movement of the cape it can't really be called authentic if the man and woman are separate (the cape can't flail on its own).

Also, the cape is an inanimate object and therefore I have never understood the need for the woman to dance it aggressively unless she is playing the bull instead (Jayne Torvill's passivity of expression in the 1984 ice version was spot on in that regard).

Sabrina put her all into the dance but maybe she was misguided (by her partner)?

As far as I know in Latin the woman dancing a Paso is expected to give forth with the facial expressions too. But my understanding is it can be haughty or aggressive. Jayne Torvill was infact criticised by some for being too passive with her interpretation, especially by the Russians, who have always rated Chris, but never really rated Jayne artistically, though she was far and away technically the best woman [and better than Chris].

As a T&D fan of old I well recall that, La Rhumba. I do wonder though, if a female might not be better holding back a bit in the paso so that the male bullfighter role shines through. At any rate, I did feel I noticed Sabrina a bit too much.

I think Sabrina has such a big presence and there was a lot of dress there that she was frantically flapping around - the whole thing was a bit OTT for me and a bit heavy (... and I'm not referring to her size, she seems quite heavy footed)

Definitely. It's known as the Man's Dance, but I guess in shows like DWTS and Strictly the female celebs can get carried away.

We'll see if she's got any subtlety about her in the Rhumba.

Wade Robson - interesting, it held my attention, but think it's a shame that was his first performance for 4 years. He's too young to only choreograph. Alot of Vivienne Westward stylee fashions going on there, and quite British edge to his work I thought.

Cheryl & Drew - enjoyed their dance more than I was expecting. For such a short man, he had a touch of elegance about him, especially in his arm movements, nice.
Couldn't work out the song, seemed to be to the same tune as Mack the Knife, but different lyrics. What a bland so called Legend though. :sleep:

The Audience - are they for real? I'm always amazed how verbally dextrous American people are on TV.

Partnerships - Joan Rivers was positively plastic wasn't she?

Mel & Maks - liked his Beckhamesque earing, and appreciated Bruno not beating about the bush and telling it straight that Mel was the better dancer, no question, and must stay.

Floyd - looked happy to go, does he have ADD? Weird guy.
Not sorry to see Karina go, her grating voice gives me nightmares, and am v.v. bored with Mark's "little train that can"....let's hope he's shunted next week, and it's so cruel to film Kym head on and close up, with each of her eyes looking in different directions. It always catches me off guard.

I absolutely loved the dance group & Wade, I've never seen him before but he mesmerized me .

It was nice to see Drew with his dancing shoes on - I was impressed .

I usually watch it twice & then once more for my fave dances- sad I know . This week it was Cheetah girl again (I never remember her name, I usually have to go on the DWTS web site too look it up but can't be bothered tonight. I obviously have a mental block, could be cos she looks so much like my niece I want to call her Sarah ) Cameron & Jennie.

Has Kim got some sort of condition they can't operate on? I never noticed until you mentioned it! Shame but she's very attractive anyway & it does n't seem to bother her.

The one obvious lift by Cameron & Edyta was virtually ignored by the whole panel, whilst Ms Inaba picked on poor Jayne!

I think she just has what we used to call a lazy eye, my niece had it, and usually they make you wear a patch so that the lazy eye works and gets stronger. I could be wrong, but maybe she just never wanted to be bothered with any treatment for it. Sometimes it just hits you and you notice it again having forgotten about it, but no, I agree, it doesn't affect her attractiveness at all. I wonder if she's permanently left the Aussie DWTS as they both run concurrently, so I guess she chose to stay with the US version. I do think she must've danced a regular Foxtrot etc on the Aussie show though, so must've adapted to the Smooth versions for America.

Kym's had experience of doing all sorts of ballroom dancing. She competed as a ballroom dancer for years and so is obviously an expert at Standard and also toured in Burn the Floor and some other shows, so used to doing the more showy/American Smooth routines.

They went to a commercial, she was first up and just had finished dancing the Samba, she got all excited, Len started talking, then she just fell. I thought she was being goofy and Johnathan didn't manage to catch her but then Tom checked and she was sparko out cold, so they've gone to commercials and len was all upset.

Marie is fine. She scored 3x7, her Samba was okay, nothing special. They had a long advert break then when they went back live she was up and chirping away as usual asking for her scores! She said when she gets winded it happens sometimes.

Jane & Tony - Rhumba - tough love in the VT, not all sweetness this week. But a gorgeous rhumba. 1x8 CA again, 2x9 - Bruno drooled. Think she has implants, but whatever she looks amazing for 56.

They compared her to Edyta!

Mark & Kym - Samba (of sorts) - he wanted a gimmicky routine, so it was I dream of genie, Kym made a lovely genie, and he was the geek, not much acting required there then.
Much as I love Kym, America please vote him out. The way CarrieAnn gives him compliments but always criticises Jane is so bloody annoying.

It was sloooow, cha cha pace, and any Saaaambaing was done by Kym alone' he did nothing.
3x7, worth nothing more than a 6 at best for his dancing, and that's generous.

Mark & Sabrina - OMG! What a show tonight, it's all happening, so glad I stayed up!
Mark's's Mum former Latin WC 3x Shirley came to the training to advise cheetah girl, who knows she may've helped with the choreo too?
The music was Me & Mrs Jones, one of my all time faves, and the choreo was FABULOUS!
Staccato picture, am dying to see the vid tomorrow, but the dance looked wonderful to me, she had sensuality. Len didn't like it and he and Bruno had a row...was it the bad blood with Shirley??????? The plot thickens!

Jennie & Derek - Samba - Very well danced by Jennie, alot of content, moved around the floor and covered every inch, but is it me? I'm finding the Samba rhythms a bit slow tonight, they're almost Cha Cha speed and I'm expecting faster...? But very good samba rolls and the best one so far tonight [though in truth not alot to beat in the Samba stakes). 8,9,8
Am still deciding who's the better dancer - Mark or Derek....ooh choices! Bare chests! phew!

Helio & Julianne - Rhumba - hmmm, this dance got slated by all 3 Judges, though still scored 8,7,8...so
Choreographically better than J's efforts with Apollo IMO, much better, ie it actually was a Rhumba. I thought it wasn't that bad, but Helio clearly has so many fans, still think he will win.

They've said Marie is staying in her trailer under medical advice, but she wanted to join the group, so she's recovered thankfully.

Tom is on top form tonight, sooooo many funny lines! LOL!

Heather Mills is in the audience, and he even cracked a joke about her having one leg - she laughed!

Mel & Maks - Samba - 2x10, 1x9, bet Len feels foolish. Was too poor a picture to review correctly so have to see the video, but it looked brill. Maks is really going at it with the choreo this year. Mel doesn't come across as well in the VT's though, so hopefully she'll get votes. Spice Up Your Life ha! The band slowed it down slightly, I told ya, what's happening with the slow Samba rhythms? Only Marie's was authentic Samba speed to my ears. But defo looked best Samba tonight.

Camyta - Rhumba! He was pretty good, better than Helio. Edyta did her usual lap dancing routine and the godawful one foot spin, going off the floor, with her free leg up behind him that looks so cheap and tacky. But it was one hot Rhumba. 8,9,9 CA obviously deducted a point.

Tomorrow - Jennifer Lopez.
Marie joined in for the farewell wave and line-up and still looked groggy. She did look as if she's lost weight, I hope she's not starving herself.
