Well that's a shock, but maybe the public were stirred up by all the talk of her dance experience and didn't vote for her

I wasn't keen on her as I thought she was too heavy footed and aggressive in her dancing

Hmmmm, I had a feeling! Those 2 dances were so overmarked this week by the Judges, so they can stamp their feet all they want! It's gonna be another Gabby situation.

Mark looked so crushed though, he kept kissing Sabrina.

TBH I'd have preferred Cam & Edyta to go.

It's the middle couples again.......

I honestly think they saw 2 poor dances this week and didn't vote for them. I know they were both busy people, but their pros also did not create great dances or choose great music for them, and the costumes didn't help.

I think the viewers appreciated Jane & Marie's efforts and felt Jane specially was harshly criticised.

Spoiler
It's an SCD situation, except here the audience actually booed and Tom was all overcome.

The middle couples again:

Bottom 2: Cam & Edyta & Sabrina & Mark

Sabrina & Mark gone!

In footage they aired of the celebs joking backstage, it sounded like all of them just assumed that Sabrina would make the finals. I think viewers assumed the same thing and felt that there were already enough people voting for her that she didn't need their votes.

The quality of the dancing and choreography will suffer now that Sabrina and Mark are gone. And Marie and Jane are going to be miserable trying to produce two new dances each week from here on out.

I'm shocked!! I thought they'd get to the final.

I just had a look at the Dancing with the Stars forum. I have never watched Dancing with the Stars (when is it on?), but thought it would be interesting to read the American people's opinions of their show and see how they compare to our opinions of Strictly.

Just substitute names and you would think you were on the same forum!!! It was quite funny to read. Same old thread topics: judges are wrong, sack Bruno, sack all the judges, shame on Marie for staying when a better dancer had to go, American Smooth should be danced this way, no that way......etc, etc.

It seems we forum posters are the same the world over! Sobering thought.

I am now off to search for an Australian ballroom dancing competition to see what their message board is like.

Shocked at the result! Really thought they were a shoo-in for the finals.

I'm shocked but pleased in a way as I thought it was unfair to have someone with so much dance training on the show. Mel to win Although that would really cause problems with the start of the Spice Girls tour.

And in answer to La Rhumba's question, I think maybe it's time that DWTS had a separate sub-forum as it's becoming more and more popular over here. I love it

I thought Marie was going to faint again when they said she was safe. Also why did Barry have to sing the last dance song which is just a plug for his new album. They kept cutting to Barry Manilow.

When they arranged Barry Manilow to sing at the end, I wonder whether it was because Jane wasn't there and they assumed it would make a good ending.

The other dancers surrounding (and protecting) Sabrina and Mark from the camera's reminded me so much of Louisa and Vincent's exit on SCD.

Gosh, Len and Bruno are going to be grumpy when they get back to London.

Actually I think it`ll be Helio.

Mel has been in the bottom two so I dont think she`s that popular.

The forum I`ve just read it appears it`s also the `previous experience` tag again coupled with the fact the audience didn`t connect with her as much.

Yes, she could dance but I can`t say I honestly enjoyed her performances or looked forward to them every week.

In the US the public vote counts for more than in the UK. They take the percentage of the total judges vote that you get and add the percentage of the public vote.

You can't score more than 30/30 so your maximum judges percentage is limited, but you could get 50% of the public vote if you have a big enough fan base.

The scale of the shock and surprise is much bigger than Gabby going out of SCD. Gabby may have been a final contender, but few would say she was the best dancer ahead of Kelly and Alesha. Whereas Sabrina was absolutely the best. But clearly the US public don't like the fact that she is semi-professional and didn't relate to her as a novice on a "journey".

Len and Bruno must be wondering if normality will ever be restored!!

Shocks both is US and here..... Just shows. Bruno and Len can complain all they like about the british public, but now they have to complain about the US viewers. Do you think it's got anything to do with them? :P LOL!

Thanks for the update from behind the scenes.

I think the Foxtrot was Sabrina's weakest dance and Mark's poorest effort in the choreography stakes, and quite a big disappointment after their excellent Rhumba the previous week, where I thought Sabrina had really shown a mature performance and a softer and more flowing line. But obviously her work committments meant she had to juggle training, and so couldn't refine the Foxtrot. I do wonder who the Judges would've saved between Cameron and Sabrina if they had to choose between them though, like over here now.

I don't know though, I'm more optimistic about Jane & Marie being able to cope, I think they can both do very well in the Ballroom dances and can still make an entertaining contribution. Not everyone was thrilled by Sabrina's dancing, however dynamic she was.
