The official (ABC) forums. As soon as the show ended it was flooded with "how dare he criticise our president" and "Go back to England" threads. Although I must say a lot of people were also taking the joke as intended and telling everyone to not take it seriously.

Strange marking by the judges last night I thought.

I didn't think Marie deserved as high a mark as she got for her first dance and I thought they overmarked Cameron's quickstep after pointing out a lot of faults with it they gave him three 8's.

I wasn't too keen on Mel and Maks' foxtrot, but I think a lot of that had to do with Mel's outfit, I didn't like the cullotte trousers I would have preferred to see her in a floaty dress. The judges criticised her footwork saying it wasn't in synch with Maks' but I think the trousers just emphasised this, if she had been wearing a flowing skirt it wouldn't have been so obvious ...lol

.... but their paso was absolutely fantastic, I loved it.

Also, is it just me or is Julianne taking over from Eddita in the skimpy costume department ?

Thanks everyone for all the news of last night's show - pri, great live reports!! gutted I missed it - can't wait to watch all the videos later.

BTW even Edyta's hubby pronounces her name like that and not E - dyta, as the Polish lady said. Unfortunately, foreign names get mispronounced and settle into a hybrid, with the accents and emphasis in the wrong place. (I know I have one).

Oooh, dear, Len getting tired and emotional again! He's running out of things to say. I know from from my own online American friends, they are very sensitive to issues like respecting the flag and the President (mostly).

jacquiann I totally agree about the spoilers in the rest of the forum last week. Posters want to start DWTS threads all over, rather than post here, to make a splash, but they need to be aware that the UK Gold broadcast is on Friday, and people wish to remain unspoiled. I would if I had UK Gold.

Finally how pleasant to read US press articles about the show without the ineptitude and innacuracy that we have to suffer over here from the likes of the Sun! (Which the BBC seems to encourage btw).

What an excellent well balanced, well researched article that was, quoting the forums in an accurate way, and taking the trouble to read properly. Fantastic journalism, as it should be. *bows in appreciation*

Guttersnipes the Sun - who are quoting this forum all over and getting info from here - take note!

Mel's Paso was amazing!

Does anyone know what the vibe is like from the American viewpoint? is she coming across well? does she have a chance of winning?

i know she was in bottom two a few weeks back

just curious?

I was feeling depressed and disheartened by this series of SCD, so took refuge in some of the last series of DWTS on tape as an antidote.

I haven't the technology to cope with seeing this series, could anyone possibly do me any dvds?

I think Mel B might burn out if she stays to the end, she's rehersing 2 dances now for DWTS & now starting for the spice tour. It will be tough, but she is doing brilliantly, getting better every week, shame most people here don't get to see her in action, oh well treat for us!

I hope they want her Paso again tonight! I suppose the danger is that with all the Spice Girls rehearsals she's doing as well as trying to learn two new dances, she's likely to screw up the routine and end up bottom of the leaderboard in which case it will rely on the American public to keep her in. I can't see her getting knocked out tonight though. That routine was just too good.

Oh, that explains it then. I would never dream of going to the ABC forums, it seems to be largely populated by trolls looking for someone to bash. I wouldn't be surprised if they automatically react over the top.

There are a lot of trolls, but there are also loads of regular posters who chat about genuine opinions.

It's not my favourite board in the world though and I totally see your point. Just haven't stumbled upon any other DWTS boards really.

You're quite right, I'm sure there are many normal posters, it's just the minority that seem to ruin it for everyone. I think the best discussion board for DWTS, though this place is lovely, is TWoP.
It's heavily moderated so no trolling is allowed.

The ABC forum is a nightmare ...lol. There are loads of threads started on completely the same subject, when I looked this morning the whole first page was taken up with "who does Len think he is?", "how dare Len", "Len is disrespectfull", "get out of our country Len" threads.

Television Without Pity has more serious discussion, and I look at Maksim's official forum where articles and video clips are posted.

I thought a lot of the dances were grossly overmarked last night, but that's nothing new. The judges are lovely and generous over there. Craig would go spare!

Really loving Jennie and Derek, they're my favourite couple. Agree with some people saying Marie's quickstep was way overmarked. I think the short skirt exposed a lot of messy footwork. I actually didn't like Mel's paso, and thought that it was ironic that it was praised so highly from Len when in fact it wasn't a very traditional paso. Thought Cameron's jive was very good. Amazing footwork for a tall bloke.

Unfortunatley I think it's time for Jane to leave. Like the judges said, she's not exciting enough.

is there a video of what len said about the president?

the vid is on the helio and julianne's samba when they get the judges comments.

i've noticed about mel and maks is that they do great in the latin. this is her best area and hasn't marked very low in it for a long time.

ballroom is new to her so she ain't as good at it as she is at the latin but i still love it i hope she can really nail whatever ballroom dance she does next week if she's still here I HOPE!

Hi Nancy, does your technology not allow you to watch youtube videos?

Apparently Marie Osmond's father died this morning, so I wouldn't have thought she would be at the results show tonight.

They are certainly having their fair share of drama on this year's show.
