i just watched mel&maks v.waltz again jesus those splits must've hurt!

ahh wow mel and maks.............it just gets better and better. that VW= wow, the best VW i've seen on these competitions.

Certainly create a lot more `wow` factor than the UK one.

You're welcome Marty. I'm paying for it today, mind. :yawn: But it's so much fun, and an extra thrill to watch it all unfold live, I'll never forget the night Marie fainted, it was so shocking. So I'm determined to do it all again next week for the Final.
Starts at 1am next Mon Night/Tues Morning if anyone else would like to join us.
Results Show starts tonight at 2am - don't know if I'll make that one.

If we ever needed proof that dancing was good for the figure, just look at Marie. She looks amazing. The difference from week 1!

One thing I noticed this morning watching it was that the band is so much better than ours on SCD. He somehow takes the original theme tune and rearranges it so it sounds more interesting. And the singers are better too! The whole thing is much slicker - possibly helped by Tom Berenger. Much as I love Bruce, I think the time has come for him to retire gracefully and get someone else in for the next series. And of course, the American audience whoops and hollers a lot more than our somewhat more restrained English audience which adds to the 'wow' factor.

Bergeron, but I like him too - he's a more modern host I think than Bruce, who's sort of classic English saturday night television.

I much rather Helio (or even Jennie) wins than Mel B.

It's about progression & being very good as a result. Helio & even Jennie achieved this from the beginning of the competition to date.....and both are untrained dancers.

Mel B dances for a living.

Oops! Yes of course. I nearly put Bergerac!!

But as she said herself she did dance routines for 6 year olds plus Emma Bunton was/is in the same group as Mel B and she was not very good (imho and I'm restraining myself).

I'd like Helio to win - I liked Sabrina but now she's gone I think he's the best. Jennie comes across as a bit snotty to me, and I don't know if that's something I picked up in the early days of the competition or what - I thought I'd like her (90210 fan ). Mel doesn't really appeal to me either.

I'd love to see Louis Van Amstel back next year. Hopefully they will have some shorter female celebs to allow him to come back!

Thought I read on another forum that Jennie has done a lot of dancing in the past as well (at one time considering opening her own dancing school) - so the two untrained dancers left in are actually Marie and Helio

mel has danced previously but latin/ballroom was never her background it was all street dance etc so it is very different.

the only advantage she has is that because she's from a entertainer's background she can pick things up easily and finds putting the hours in easy because she's learnt loads of songs in the past with spice girls and she's been on a world tour before with the spice girls where everything was staged and involves remembering things but not to the extent of what needs to remember on DWTS.

same is for Helio he's a driver therefore training should come easy to him.

Jennie & Derek's Cha Cha was given the honour by Len of the Encore performance. Her hubby gave a standing O in the audience. Hmmm, can an Encore Couple ever be voted off in the same show?
Len said it was the best quality semi-final dancing he'd ever seen.

Nice clips in the beginning recapping post dance - Maks is really zoned out with bliss, he said it had been "a great 9 weeks!"
We caught sight of Derek's bare chest *swoon* plus he's had a hair cut.
Marie was funny as always, saying her hips moved so much in the Mambo, she was surprised there wasn't an earthquake!

Samantha is wearing the same style dress every week, with plunging neckline, this time in white with black trim, pretty, but Tess has more variety of styles.

Canadian Avril Levigne sang a song, pretty girl. No dancing.
All the celebs gave an interview backstage saying they wanted to stay and make the Final, it was very importnat to all of them.

First result: Marie & Jonathan are SAVED!
Tom said she went over "and was hitting on Bruno...or rather hitting him!"..... for giving her a 9 last night, apparently it was a crime. Earlier they featured the audience views, most of whom appear to always be Camp as Christmas, mixed faves, but Marie was mentioned as "needing to leave".

Kenny Maine did a really hysterical piece with contestants from past series, including Laila Ali and Harry Hamlyn. They were all in Rehab for ex-DWTS patients, and really did the sketch well.

Micheal Flatley choreographed a new piece for his troupe of all male Irish Dancers especially for the show, a Military/Naval uniformed routine minus music, so only the sound of tapping shoes and whooping from the audience. To be honest, if you've seen one of his routines, you've seen them all.

We had a segment where the Media, mainly TV presenters from ET etc., talked about how this series had been the most newsworthy ever in DWTS history! Top of the list - Marie fainting on live TV!

Avril Levigne sang Complicated, and Sabrina & Mark burst onto the floor to give a stunning exhibition!
It looked like it could've been their Freestyle/Showdance, full of lifts and dynamic dancing, changing tempo. Tom & Samantha plugged the Tour.

The dancers were all backstage having a pillow fight LOL! That's why this show is so much fun! Lighthearted and great dancing by celebs and pros alike!

Mel & Maks are SAFE!
We saw a segment where all the celebs were speaking about what they brought to the show, and their pro partners were describing what their best qualities were. Maks said that Mel had "the most natural abilty of anyone".

So to the final 2 - Helio & Julianne and Jennie & Derek - the 2 pro dancer siblings pitted against one another........it was to be Jennie & Derek to leave.

It wasn't a surprise to me....she took it well, and Derek complimented her for progressing from a timid shy person into a dancing performer, and said he wouldn't have wanted this experience with anyone else.
As always Derek put his arms around Jennie's neck and shoulders in that protective way of his that is so cute.
He has made a wonderful debut on the show, and added to the attraction of DWTS for me.

Next week Celine Dion, and the return of all the dancers for the Finale......can't wait!

Thanks for all the clips! I'd like Mel B to win, but I love Marie! Helio does nothing for me I'm afraid. Their costumes are fab (Mel B's paso costume - wow!) - obviously the budget is much bigger than the bbc's LOL!

It's a shame that Jennie has gone. I guess it just shows how strong Marie's fan base is. Whilst she's done well, there is no way she should win it, but I can't help thinking that her huge support might carry her all the way.
