I'm sorry Jennie has gone, there was something wholesome and 'nice' about her dancing. I've nothing against Marie O as a person, but her dancing does nothing for me at all, and I was hoping she would be out this week. A dance coach of ours used to say "It's not what you do, it's who you know" and I think this is never so true as with dwts & strictly....

I'm not sure if you're suggesting the competition is fixed, but Marie is clearly very popular and she can dance (unlike Kenny TBH) and she is very entertaining for a lot of people. I think her popularity with public is carrying her through as the judges always have her in the right place on the leader board.

It's so predictable it's annoying.....Mel B winning DWTS & Alesha Dixon on SCD!!!

I wish producers reject all these type of experienced celebs on the show because for me they really spoil the excitement & unpredicatability of the winners not to mention being unfair to those untrained ones who has potentials & eventually progress & become great dancers as result......that's far more entertaining to watch than the likes of people like Mel B & Alesha!!!

Okay, Melanie B (aka Scary Spice) is in the Spice Girls with Emma Bunton (aka Baby Spice). Emma Bunton was in last years Strictly Come Dancing. She made it to the final but if you make a direct comparison between these two girls from the exact same dance/pop group then I feel it shows that even with prior dance training you can still have someone who is more talented than someone else. Or to put it another way, I think Mel B is very good and I thought Emma B was not very good at all. Is that better?

if all celebs on DWTS and SCD had two left feet or danced like Marie then we'd never see such great technical routines. Having a cheeky, funny, routine is good but i'd like to see some daring moves and hard steps in these dances too to show real competition.

in all fairness, just because helio hasn't had dance experience doesn't mean he can't dance. you can either dance or not dance so just because mel did have dance experience doesn't neccessarily mean she was gonna be great at it just because she had experience.

mel did hip hop/street dancing back in the days do you really think she could've done what sabrina did last night on the results show? no. so just saying someone has experience doesn't give them a huge advantage.

these are types of show where the talent and consistency should win and that's mel she can't dance like the proffesionals so she has come a long long way.

julianne has lately started to do all the work for helio as if she's the celeb all helio does is smile he's not even that good at latin i personally think.

it's so annoying that people pick on mel for little things, what about the fact that in 5-7days every week she's had to rehearse 2 dances, rehearse with the spice girls, look after her kids and after all that sleep as well so she doesn't physically drain out, if that ain't girl power then i don't know what is.

What about sports people, don't they have an advantage of being able to train more and being more focused on winning? And Mel & Alesha aren't the only ones with dance training, personally I'm sick of men on journeys winning, why can't women ever go on journeys? I think Mel & Alesha have both improved a lot but it's less noticeable because they weren't crap to start with.

Mel is in a different league to Emma - she could wipe the floor with Ms Bunton anytime. I don't think she's turned in a single bad performance on DWTS, whilst Emma only got as far as she did because of the favouritism shown by certain judges last year.

Just for the record - Emma DIDN'T make the final last year - she was voted off in the semi final - only Mark and Matt danced in the final!

Mel does have an advantage on DWTS in that she can obviously learn the routines very quickly indeed - to have turned in performances like she did on Monday with 2 hrs rehearsal shows that she not only can learn routines fast, she also retains what she's been taught.

BUT - I think that when it comes down to it - Marie may well win this as she is the only AMERICAN contestant left in there, and will pick up the patriotic votes

What a ridiculous statement. The guy has learned to dance and has continued to improve his technique. To suggest all he does is smile, is to suggest all you did was to sleep when he was dancing.

i'm not denying that he hasn't learnt to dance but he only comes out in the ballroom, julianne is doing it all for him in the latin, my personal opinion.

No, I'm not for one minute suggesting the comp is fixed.

When I said "the people you know" I meant that having a huge fan base - which the Osmonds do - is a great advantage, and will carry her through, above someone who maybe can dance better, but doesn't have that sort of fan base.

I don't find Marie in the least entertaining (but that's just a matter of taste) but I do agree she can dance better than Kenny...... but he is another case of being kept in by his fan base, in this case probably all of Scotland, who are nothing if not patriotic and will vote for one of their own whatever!!!!

Anyway back to the DWTS final....I really hope that Helio & even Marie for that matter have bigger fan base voting for them!!

Otherwise it will be a bore of a final with predictable Mel B as winner. Hell, they might as well not have the actual final & just give ghastly Mel her bloody dicso ball trophy & just have Helio & Marie do exhibition dances instead!

i like that idea mel is after all the better dancer and more consistent and has more points overall then anyone in previous seasons and the proffesional dancers have said she is the best female dancer on DWTS in all 5 seasons so yes give her the trophy please.

anyway i've been reading comments from M&M fans on abc website and they really think something it hotting up between them two, they've noticed just little things like where their hands are etc and it's actually cute. Maks ego has gone straight out of the window this season he seems so comfortable with her and thinks about her more when it comes to cheorgraphy then what he actually looks like when doing the routine.

i really can't wait for the freestyle.

also there's this video on youtube where a reporter asks maks what his fave dance is and he said the horizontal mambo <wink, wink> and what did maks and mel do at the end of their mambo yup a horizontal mambo the chemistry is soooooooooo there.

I hadn't thought about this before and suspect you may be right, which is a shame as Mel B is a better dancer by far.

I suggest watching his Mambo in only the second week, and his first Cha Cha to see the amount of steps and difficult syncopated choreography he has mastered as a dance novice.

Just a word on Marie, and disappointment expressed by some that she has made the Final ahead of Jennie (and obviously Sabrina).....

As much as I have loved some of the dances that Jennie has performed - my fave being the Rhumba, which was stunning - I am a huge fan of Derek, and have appreciated her blossoming into a much better performer than when she started the show, I can't say I'm in the least unhappy about Marie making the Finale.

For a woman in her late 40s - and as we know this show has a very wide demographic, but particularly an audience of women of mature years - she has done remarkably well, I am soooo impressed with her boundless energy, and sense of humour, and sheer joy of performing! Plus she can dance for sure! She can do Ballroom and Latin, and is not an embarrassment in any way, and will be a worthy Finalist.
I think it's nice that Jonathan, a stalwart pro, will also make his debut in the Final. Hopefully he will come up with a great routine for their Showdance and wow the audience, and do themselves justice.

Obviously her moves are never going to be as crisp as a teenager like Sabrina, but she has something else to offer the show, and IMO there's always room for a Marie, ie. an older, fun, contestant, who gets into the spirit of the show, but can dance well too, aswell as a finely tuned sportsman like Helio, learning a new skill from scratch, and a professional singer like Mel, who is put into another environment, and comes up with one fantastic performance after another, 6 months after giving birth! (and showing the teenager on the show how Hip Hop can be cast aside and a Ballroom and Latin style developed with alot more refinement and elegance).

My friend in Amsterdam mentioned there was an article about him in a Dutch newspaper the other day! I didn't know he was Dutch, just thought he had a foreign name.

So what you're saying is that no matter how fantastic a dancer Mel is, she shouldn't win even if she is the best because its predictable - right? I'm puzzled, how does that work. I thought the idea of the comp was for the best to win

Beyond those who are simply fans, I think that if Marie wins it will be more of a sympathy vote than anything patriotic. For one thing, either her brother, Donnie, or herself seem to be on Entertainment Tonight every night talking about their troubles and how much this would mean to them. She's also been on Oprah, and CNN's Larry King, and one poster at TWoP said that they saw someone urging people to vote for her on QVC(a shopping television network where Marie sells dolls). She's getting about 5 times as much publicity than everyone else.
