Go to bed you guys! I can't believe you stayed up until the wee hours of the morning. It's been nice getting everyone's perspective and dancing expertise this season.

Firstly a special THANK YOU TO GREG & KATHY for the fabulous use of their webcam, and for coming to our rescue. *waves back at you both*

You are both *stars* of the first order, and I award you a perfect 10!

Secondly, CONGRATS TO HELIO & JULIANNE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm delighted for them, and for Julianne's second victory in succession with a novice Sportsman, Go Girl! She's a absolute STAR!

Helio deserves it as much as Mel, and I think the public appreciated his efforts as a great entertainer coming from scratch so to speak.

Mel & Maks - your great routines and superb dancing will live long in the memory.

THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!!!! See you back here for DWTS 6 - CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!

It was really FUN tonight! I LOVED it!

Right well I'm off to bed, it's been lovely talking through the whole thing with everyone - especially when there was no picture and/or sound!

Sorry to those who didn't get the result you were after
I enjoyed it too quacka, thanks for your sterling work keeping us updated.

Thanks, La Rhumba! Greg and I were glad we could come through in a pinch with our makeshift webcam. And thanks to everyone who came to our chat from Digital Spy.

It's a shame that Mel & Maks didn't win. The trophy always goes to the winner of the freestyle round, and in some interviews after last night's show, Maks seemed to think Helio & Julianne were going to win.

If nothing else, Mel has made a lot of new fans in the States, myself included.

Many Thanks to you too Sari, and it's such fun, I'm planning already to do it all again come DWTS 6, looking forward to it!

BTW if this is Maks's last season, it's a shame he didn't win, but sorry to say it, a duff Freestyle 2 years in a row. I would've thought he'd have learnt with Laila, but no.

Julianne came up with the goods again. You have to credit her.

The best dancer DIDN'T win.
They tend not to even make the final 2 in recent years on SCD so the American's can be forgiven for a marginal decision after getting them there.

How brilliant were you all last night. Well done. It's been a fantastic read this morning, I was on the edge of my seat.

Not sure I agree with the result but Helio was a good performer so congrats to him.

Thanks again all.

I'm watching now, but I know the result Very much looking forward to the freestyle!! SCD just doesn't do it as well! And I loved Julianne's with Apolo last season. (Even though I wanted Joey & Kym to win!)

In 5 seasons only 3 pros have won!!! Makes me feel bad for the others, however fabulous Cheryl & Julianne are! I'm a motorsport fan, so I'm happy on that front too!

Maks' last season? Aww.

Edit: Eeee! Helio & Julianne's freestyle was amazing! I can't believe she's only 19. Wow!!

I'd just like to record my thanks to all those who have posted on this thread and particularly to La Rhumba for the terrific commentaries and all the links.

I have been addicted to DWTS (both this season and the previous one) and have been unable to wait till Friday to watch it on UKTV Gold. So I've watched most of the videos from Dance4Fun22 and read all the posts.

This morning I've read through this thread to see the result rather than just looking it up on Wikipedia - more tension that way!!

I've thought Helio and Julianne were a great partnership right from the start so I'm delighted he's won - another sportsman! I agree with the judges that he really did combine technical capability with great performance. Some of their dances were good enough to watch dozens of times and never get bored.

But Mel & Maks were also great and were so close in the end. Some of their performances were absolutely stunning - the jive, the samba the Paso.

Thanks again to everyone.

Disappointed with end result, but Mel is still the winner in my eyes. Fantastic to get to the finals in anycase. Well done Mel and congratulations.

I've just re-watched Apolo and Julianne's second cha cha (to "Push It") - is that Jane Seymour in the audience? Right after they've danced, when they're hugging.

Cheers! Is there a list somewhere of all the music that was used in the series?

Not that I'm aware of, but if there's anything in particular you want to know I (or someone else here) might be able to help.

Raph's not been very accurate this year though, the previous years are correct but there's quite a few mistakes this time around.

Many Thanks to silbies, CoolTango, Cassie & Olls for all your kind comments.

It was an absolute pleasure, in spite of the banging head today. LOL!

I'm watching all of J&H's dances again.

Julianne in the first clip: "Anyone who thinks they're getting their hands on my trophy better think again."

Aw bless poor Raphael, he's put up an apology notice about the webcam going down last night.

http://journals.rpungin.fotki.com/dwts/

He's so sweet, but understandably he can't be home to tend to our needs all the time!

I've sent him a message of thanks for all his sterling work throughout the season.
