New Dances?
Jillstar

Are there going to be any new dances on SCD this year?
That's one thing I miss about Strictly Dance Fever, being able to see a wide variety of dances.
I'd love to see the Jitterbug and the Charleston on SCD as I think they're great because I love anything from those eras (1920s-40s)

Oh, I do too. SDF is sadly missed.

Hi guys,
I miss SDF too. However, I wouldnt like to see them add any more dances this year - I think it would get silly. They have managed to squeeze in AT and Salsa to the show and I think thats enough!

Really dislike the guys 1st week/girls 2nd thing too! Gosh, Im such a grump!

I think it would be a hard thing to do, esp since there aren't as many ballroom dances to balance the latin dances. They've already got group 'swing' and 'mambo', which they could have made as individual dances as a nex thing.

I would prefer to keep it as it is, keeping it to the classic ballroom and latin, since that's what the show is all about.

Yeah as much as I'd love to see them they already have enough dances to learn and I think making the series even longer wouldn't be a good idea...

Though I agree with you dinosaur I don't like the split weeks they should just have one week at the beginning were noone goes...

I think there is an argument for leaving a dance or two out to accomodate something else...much as I enjoy it when well done, the rhumba seems particularly hard to master with so little time to learn it and rarely do we see a good one.

the problem is the professionals - they are ballroom and latin dancers so putting something else in will not always work. Personally I would hate for the show to do any of the strictly dance fever stuff - which on the whole I thought were awful

I hope not! And I wouldn't be too sad if they didn't dance Salsa this series either. Last series Darren and Emma's Salsa turned into a Samba halfway through!

Yeah - i understand, I think what I meant was that, it's hard to bring in new ballroom dances. If they introduced new dances, most probably they would be latin ones, so you would lose the balance.

if they introduced new latin or ballroom dances they would have to be 'invented' one like the stupid guapacha on SDF so hopefully no chance of that

Well I wouldn't mind seeing the Landleuhr, the Milonga, the Charleston, and so many other fab dances we got on SDF.......but I'd much rather SDF just came back instead and stick to Ballroom & Latin for SCD.
