Kelly and Brendan

How do we think they will do?

I reckon they are in with a very good chance (assuming Kelly can dance!). I can see Kelly having a lot of male admirers and with Brendans established fanbase they could be a good bet for the final.

I think it would present more of a 'problem' if Kelly shows a lot of potential. She might end up like Zoe Ball/Emma Bunton and people may swing their votes to the 'underdogs'.

But depending on the charms of Kelly and the behaviour (or perceptions we have) of Brendan. If they are not perceived as smug and think the world of themselves, then they might still get a lot of popular votes.

Blame the UK public who doesn't like the 'obvious' to win.

Is this a Kelly/Brendan (Keldon or Brendly) appreciation thread?

I was thinking Kelly wouldn't be too good, because the two models on DWTS4 were both IMO a little stiff and didn't let go, although they both looked like they could have been good. It seems as though she has some dance experience though so hopefully she will be quite good- her main problem will be Craig putting people off her I think!

I'd really like to see another dancer of Jill Halfpenny's standard, and I'd like another girl to win, so I could see myself voting for her.

I don't think they should go too heavily for male votes, I suspect the majority of voters are female and not necessarily going to be influenced by sexy outfits (I've heard a rumour one of her outfits is a nude coloured leotard with carefully positioned stones )

I have heard she has already done some ballroom/latin. I have to say these too are getting all the publicity. Every mag I saw yesterday was all bout them too more than who else was doing it

Has the person getting all the publicity ever won though? I'm certain Mark and Darren were getting very little publicity before the series started, can't remember about Jill though.

ETA in fact last year Emma was the main focus of the publicity, and I seem to remember Zoe was for SCD3- I hope that doesn't mean Kelly will go the same way they did!

Belly?

Not designated as an appreciation thread, but if it turns out to be one I won't have any objections.

I'm looking forward to seeing them together, and we know how he reacted to Rachel Hunter, so I reckon he'll be the same with Kelly, quite intimidated etc!

Best of luck to Kelly and Brendan.

Am not worried about her..by all accounts a sweetie but him.

If he can buckle down and produce great routines and she dances well, they deserve to do really well.

I did in fact have my first ever SCD dream last night and this is as relevant a place to describe it. All rather confused but they had switched the girls to dance the first week because they were more photogenic, (!) and Kelly and Brendan's scores for the rumba included two 8's and a 9.

CRH always has to spoil it for some great dancers, especially Zoe.

A message to him, please belt up.

I think they'll do quite well and have a chance of getting to the final.....but then again no one really knows because we haven't really seen any of the contestants dance yet...... but yep I hope they do really well

Yeah - I saw that, and I thought she came over quite well too - which surprised me because I thought she came over SO badly on Saturday night - maybe just nerves? The 'GOOD? ME? REALLY?' bit was a bit hard to swallow - if she can calm down and come over a little less...over the top...she'll be easier to like!

Grrrrr Closer Magazine

Saw an advert on tv for it, something to do with Brendan/Kelly and Billy

I wish these crap publications would keep out of programmes like SCD

I'm feeling quite sorry for Kelly, having just looked at the 'least favourite' poll. The poor woman's probably the best dancer on the show (at the moment, anyway) and she's currently least favourite. Maybe I'm missing something, but she doesn't seem particularly obnoxious to me - a bit friendlier and nicer than I was expecting, if anything. Maybe I've missed her bad bits, but she already seems to be getting the Baby Spice treatment and I think it's a bit harsh.

Not just experience but also training. She did a 3yr Performance Arts course at Italia Conti where in the first year to quote their site

"Students focus on a broad-based core curriculum
concentrating on achieving strong basic technical skills
in dance, acting and singing"

Plus according to other newspaper reports she learned to tap dance for her role in "In the mood" and does it for exercise now because she enjoys it.

I don't mind that people have some previous Dance training or experience as long as it's known by the viewers so they can judge fairly their performance in comparison to others who have had neither.

Kelly came across badly on Saturday with the who me? comment (but that's all). It must be difficult when under the lights to think clearly at times. Other than that I quite like her - she seems really sweet. In the support stakes, I think she is suffering from the those that have now seen Brendan for what he is. We all know men like him - they don't have the time of day for girls that don't meet their requirements. He could learn a lot from Darren B on that score.

I don't think she will suffer as Emma did unless she is overmarked and she wasn't on Saturday. Gabby could suffer like Emma but so far she is undermarked, if anything, so she may survive the Emma treatment - although she has to be careful about the way she portrays herself on a Saturday.

I thought their rumba on Saturday night was really sensual. Also thought Aleisha's rumba was excellent too.
