You use component leads in the component slots (video only, no audio) and you use composite leads in the composite slots. Apart from HDMI, RGB scart (for digiboxes) or component (for DVD players) is best quality for connection to an HD TV, followed by s-video, composite, non-RGB scart, aerial.
