Does anybody agree that the presenter on the US DWTS (Tom Bergeron) is 100% better than our Bruce?? It would be a breath of fresh air if he were to take a trip across the Atlantic to present SCD.......if anyone from the Beeb is reading.

He seems to have a very good relationship with Len.

I do prefer Tom. I've been finding Brucie a bit annoying for the last couple of series. Dare I say it, a bit out of touch now. After all, he is 80!! Time for someone younger to take over, he can't go on forever.

The best one being, 'I don't smoke, but even I need a cigarette after that'. Said after Apolo and Juliannes Finale Rumba.

I also prefer Tom to Bruce. Bruce tries too hard to be funny.

I agree and Bruce can come across as a lecherous old goat sometimes with his comments about some of the female dancers!

I think they're both good, although Tom is a little less annoying!

Tom is funny but not interesting enough to host SCD I don't think. (I'mall for a bit of new presenting blood though)

I want Graham Norton. Please.

But Bruce has been Britain's Mr Saturday Night for 150 years. We can't get rid of him yet.

I think Tom is very professional and does the job well but Bruce has more personality is more suited to the programme.

The Americans also have the advantage of ad breaks so there is less pressure to hurry things along

Bruce is definitely the best. When he retires (or dies) then Graham Norton should take over; he did a good job on Dance Fever and there's no reason why he shouldn't on SCD. I can't imagine anyone else other than Bruce/Graham presenting it - Ben Shepherd would be a dreadful mistake.

Graham Norton would be excellent, I fear his wit is far too sharp for the judging panel though!

Heck let's save some money for the BBC and just use a cardboard cut of Tom Ber.. whatever his name is, might have a bit more personality than the chap who presented DWTS

When the h**l are people going to get it into their heads. There is no one alive who could do Bruce's job and to just keep plucking names out of hats as having some loose connection to Dance, TV or whatever and saying 'My Auntie Mildred could do a better job as she once worked as a cleaning lady in a bingo hall that used to be a dance hall... and she doesn't dribble ... much' is frankly getting a teensy bit boring.

Yes there is.... and several sensible names have been put forward.

Bruce is a tired old has been whose jokes aren't funny, his comments border on the lecherous and whose attempts to show he can still dance are getting pathetic (has anyone told him that SCD is about BALLROOM dancing - not tap or soft shoe??). He just doesn't seem to get that we watch the show to see the dancers not listen to his tired old patter and rusty catchphrases

I didn't find Brucie a fab presenter when he was in his heyday - and he's even worse now!

Hear Hear!! He became an embarassment a long time ago, I just cringe everytime he speaks. Some people can't seem to get it through their heads that he's 80 years old.
A new presenter is well overdue. Get rid of Tess as well. I'm sick of the same old comments. It needs a new presenting team, absolutely.

That's just a ludicrous statement. No-one is indispensable.
Believe it or not, the programme won't stop without Bruce

What about John Barrowman, he has a dance background so he would know what he was talking about. As for female Kate Thornton

Angela Rippon used to present Come Dancing in the 80s, what about Fiona Bruce

Not bad, but I do like Fern Britton. She's warm and cuddly and would interact with the couples with the right mix of empathy and humour.
Angela would know quite a bit about dancing and has a warm personality as well.

I don't see Kate Thornton at all in that role

If they could get Fern Britton, I'm not sure that ITV would let her? But she would be good, and have a great laugh backstage with all the couples.

Can't stand Fiona Bruce, and what does she know about Dance? She'd be too busy pouting and posing.

Angela I chose cos she's an expert, and experienced dance show presenter, and if we're retiring Brucie, she'd be there as an older person to counterbalance the hunky youngish JB.
