Nokia 7610 and O2, "SIM card registration failed"
Turbinator
20-09-2007
Hello,

I have a Nokia 7610 with an O2 SIM card inside, but it says "SIM card registration failed"

The phone works with other SIM cards (it isn't locked to any particular network) and the O2 SIM card works in other phones.

Any suggestions at all on what might be wrong?

Cheers!

The message means that the network is not allowing the SIM to register on the network. Normally this is because the SIM has been disconnected. But you would get the same results using another phone.
Have you tried a different O2 SIM in the phone?
Have you tried making a call on the phone when a different network SIM card is in the phone?
Have you had the phone for a while or is it new to you?
There are a couple of possibilities which these questions will help narrow down.
