3 internet nag screen
Mr. X
20-09-2007
In the past few days, 3 have started to put a nag screen up at the start of any internet session using their network. It's a page describing how data costs can stack up if you do a lot of browsing and suggesting you purchase an internet add-on if you use it a lot. To get to the page you actually want, you need to select "continue". At the same time, email has stopped sending successfully via SMTP. I assume email traffic is also being redirected meaninglessly to this page. The page is of no use as I'm already using an internet add-on!

Are there any settings I can change to kill this screen? If it's of any relevance, I have a Nokia E61.

Hi,

I noticed this yesterday and so far i have found no way round it! I also have an internet add-on so find it very annoying!

That's odd, I just went through to google.co.uk, then sega.com and didn't get the message but me other half did!

It's quite irritating; I'm not a complete moron, so I know that using the internet via a mobile network will incur charges unless I'm using an add-on, which I am! Are you sure there's no way to remove this "Using the Mobile Internet for Dummies" page?

This screen has now been updated to say "Continue, and don't show me this again for one day". However, if I press it, read a page then click a link to another page, I get it again. Checking IMAP email has also stopped working, which is the main reason I have this phone. How on earth can I sack it?
