V3x keeps turning itself off, and sometimes freezing, have to pull the battery. Battery tested ok, have done master clear and master reset. Any ideas?

Not the same phone as yours, but I had a similar problem on my Motorola A910... was advised to give it a good 8 hour charge, then put it on charge every night... this does appear to have solved the problem. The reason was given that there is one quite large screen on the phone, coupled with it constantly have BT and Wi-Fi on, the battery is rather intensely used... so maintaining a full charge avoids any oddities like shutting off randomly, and freezing.

Probably way off the mark... but worth a bash.

is it an Orange branded phone?

Or is it unbranded - generic Motorola?

This phone kills batteries - I should know - mine's killed 2 in just 12 months. Standby is fine for about 2 days charge but talk time hammers it - if I talk for one hour the phone is dead before the day is done. Has to be topped up in the car and is on charge every night.

Bit of a pain TBH but if you're on the same battery after 2 years it's done remarkably well.

I use the standard BC-60 Motorola Cell - I think there are extra capacity (mAh) rated cells but when I last looked they were quite expensive relatively.

Best to just replace after about 6 months or if you know the life is shortened. Can tell on mine as it has no stamina, goes from three cells green to red and then virtually straight off sometimes without warning.

The phones also had a new motherboard and nothing changed - still drains the battery at the same rate. Like the phone despite its cons.

Can I ask how you know the battery is ok? The battery meter built into Motorola Phones is not that reliable. Just

Swapped it with known good batteries, also, a battery problem would indeed cause the phone to shut down but not to freeze!

Cheers

It probably needs re-flashing...

Check out:

or ask a Q in their forums about it.

Depending on the problem with a battery the phone can freeze, reset or shut down. (For example, a battery that cannot supply the current necessary at any particular time can cause the phone to crash. A momentary loss of contact due to worn battery connections can cause a reset etc. etc.).
Swapping the batteries wouldn't eliminate a problem with the battery charging or a physical problem.
I would recommend changing the battery and having the firmware upgraded to the latest.
