In our house we tend to watch SCD and record the X-Factor so we can skip though all the adverts.

I think that so far this year the X-Factor has been terrible, we have hardly seen any actual singing, it's all been sob-stories and judges bickering. I have a feeling that when the live shows come around they are going to continue with the sob-story VTs and I envisage more time being spent on the judges bickering, they are already setting up Rhydian as the hate figure and Sharon Osbourn's new bashing block.

I will continue to watch SCD and tape X-factor as I think it is a far superior and more entertaining programme, then I can fast forward through all the X-Factor claptrap and just watch the singing

It will be interesting next Sunday because I think the final Grand Prix of the season is on at the same time as the results show.
A few million will just tune in to see how Lewis Hamilton is doing.

Tess Daly and Bruce Forsyth present as the couples perform either a fast-footed Foxtrot or a passionate Paso Doble.

The X Factor
6:45pm - 8:25pm ITV1

Tonight, the X Factor really gets into the Swing of things as it's Big Band night with a live orchestra. Judges Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue are mentors to one category of singers each - Simon has the groups, Sharon has the girls, Dannii has the boys and Louis has the over 25s. The judges will be on hand to give their views on each of the performances and to defend their acts. Later tonight, one act will leave the show.

The X Factor Results

It's decision time for the 10 X Factor final acts, as the result of the publicvote is revealed. The two acts with the lowest number of votes will perform one last time in the final showdown. I'm sorry but Shazzer can give it the whole "I'm just real" excuse for last Saturday on the X factor, but I don't beleive it for a minute. It was one huge publicity stunt to drag the viewers in to their Kareoke contest. I think what they're hoping for is people to be all "oooooh I wonder if she's back and what will she say, will it kick off again...blah blah" Anyone who buys into it is the huge fool she thinks you are. Silly old botoxed dragon!

10.6 million watched the grand prix final race (including me!) No doubt a few TVs stayed on ITV as people came to terms with the result (whether they were supporting Lewis Hamilton or not). Will be interesting to compare it with next sunday's figures.

Yay ! Strictly is thrashing The Crap Factor!

Interesting though that the Sunday show has lost 1m viewers, that's quite substantial. The live Saturday results show figures used to vary but I don't remember reading they lost that many from one week to the other (I could be wrong though). If it carries on like that there's hope the BBC will move the results show back to Saturday where it belongs.

One has to look at the figures in context - the previous sunday ITV showed a compilation Emmerdale programme which may not have attracted regular viewers. Last sunday, there was the final Formula 1 race on ITV and people may not have switched over to SCD. It's back to a level playing field from now on!

How come we don't get viewing figures for ITT?

I have my suspicions about the judges having potential pre-arranged tantrums in order to create controversy and draw in the viewers. Louis Walsh's sacking and reinstatement was a good one, last week it was Shaz's turn. Dannii next................. As Simon controls the whole thing he may spare himself from looking an idiot.

Strictly Come Dancing is a far superior show.

Those figures are fascinating - between 19.00 and 19.15 when everyone turned over - is that when Robin Hood started? Goes to show why it is so important what order you are in and the earlier ones are at such a disadvantage on both shows.

Yes. Robin Hood started at 7:15. A lot of people turned over as X Factor's average rose from 6.5m to 7.1m, because SCD had ended.

#im glad its beating x factor.
So really the best place to dance last night was near the end as thats when most people tuned in ie 2 million more then at the begining of the show.
Gabby and Alesha performed at the beginning so i wonder if maybe they strugled to get votes because of it. Its a shame we dont get to find out who got the least and most votes each week from the public.

Thanks for that.

I preferred it the way it was but the Sunday results show is clearly a ratings 'hit'.

So is the rise in viewers due to the Gabby/Penny vote off or that fact there wasn`t any Grand Prix or Snooker etc to compete with it?

I would doubt it, as the majority of the SCD fans don't use the forums, and so I'd say about 90% of viewers didn't have a clue who would be in the bottom two.

I didn't read the spoilers, so, for all I knew, someone as dull as Kenny was going home.

The Sunday show seems to be unperdictable in the ratings, but I'm thrilled that we're beating X Factor!
