Batteries for Binatone MD1500 digital cordless phone

My Binatone MD1500 digital cordless phone just arrived. It came packaged with two Nickel Cadmium AA rechargeable batteries. The thing is, I also have two Nickel Metal hydride batteries. Can I use these and will the base unit be able to charge Ni-Mh batteries as well as Ni-Cd ones?

The manual for the phone specifies the handset source as Ni-Cd.
It doesn't mention Ni-Mh but obviously they can be used but I am not sure whether the base unit will be able to charge them.

You should have no problems.

See http://www.batterynet.com.au/faq.htm

I've just bought a Panasonic DECT phone and it came supplied with two Ni-Mh batteries.
