HD-DVD and Blu Ray resolutions?
Quick question.
What resolution do HD-DVD and Blu Ray videos come in? Are they in the top format of 1080p for future proof reasons? Or are they in mixed resolutions (720p etc.) depending on the choice of the movie studio? Thanks for any replies. |

Not seen any disk that hasn't been 1080p/24 and as you say content these days is either created at that resolution or greater depending upon the medium used.
That said SD content on HD DVD (not sure about Blu-ray) in the form of "extras" are more often than not lifted straight from the DVD and hence remain SD but in the HD res frame. |

Yeah, extras on blu ray seem to be in SD too, with the exception of Mission Impossible 3, which is full of HD goodness!
