evening all. i spend the minimum of £5 per week on calls and text messages, to qualify for free weekend calls and text. they only allow an hour of talk to any phone network, but vodafone calls has no limit, nor no limit on landlines calls. no limit on text.. is this a bargain ???????? any better deals around ??

It is a bargain, and I like Free Weekends. And it's the only decent offer you'll get on Vodafone (maybe with the exception of Vodafone Passport)..

Shame I'm moving to O2 soon to take advantage of their free text packages..

Free weekends and Stop the clock make Vodafone the only PAYG network worth considering.

Not really worth considering if you make a lot of daytime calls or weekday texts.

You'll be back!
Do they not have a good reputation? I've been with them before and never really had a problem.

The thing is, I was so sick of never having any credit left to text, and so with O2, I can get free texts per month with my topups.. which is far more appealing than free texts at the weekend, when I have to spend £2.50 to get them anyway.

Probably doesn't help I'm still on the old Smartplus Price Plan though, I guess. I never got around to transferring.

I love Vodafone, they have been so good with me. Their customer service people have always been pleasant and are always able to help, and call me back when they say they are going to.

I get 500 free texts per months for topping up £15 a month. Also, I have stop the clock, free weekends and if I run out of free texts I can add a text pack.

Off-peak calls are 10p a minute to any network. For the quality of their service and network, I would rather pay slightly more than for rubbish service from the likes of O2.

How come you get 500 free texts?
I mean, Vodafone is a good service.. but all my family are on O2.. and to me, for the services I want O2 provide them more than Vodafone. I text far more than I call, so I'm not too fussed about Family or Stop The Clock than say O2's Text Anytime.

And to be honest, I've been on Vodafone for two years now, and I've never had to deal with Customer Services once, so it's unlikely O2 will be much the same. I just hope they're helping transferring my PAC.

I bought a mobile on O2 and couldn't use my vodafone SIM, so I called Vodafone for my PAC to keep my number. They said they would pay for me to have my phone unlocked so they added £15 to my balance to cover the costs and added 500 texts for topping up 15 in the previous month, and it doesn't have to be in one go - i.e. can top up £5 one week, £10 2 weeks later etc.

Wow, maybe I'll give it a go.
I'll need to switch over my priceplan though first. Haha, I'm still on stupid SmartPlus which charge 12p for their texts. :|

Not when you cant receive calls for an entire week which is still currently ongoing and customer service tells you a different story everytime you speak to them...

O2 is fine for talkers and texters, which is fine, i don't have a problem with that.

But for the service freaks, like me lol, Vodafone provide internet freedom (at a price, but cheaper than O2), cheaper xnet calls, second only to 3 for 3G coverage.

But like i said if texts are your thing then O2 is perfect.

Yeah, I'm more of an TV guy than phone guy.. I wouldn't have anything less than Sky+ (making sure I got a PVR3 for Anytime), etc. etc. All I look for in my phone is a decent text plan and all right call pricing. Getting the Samsung U600 which doesn't even have 3G anyway, so it's all good.

Thanks for your help.
