Problems with a Sony cybershot T5 camera

So, my OH did something silly.... We borrowed a nice little cybershot T5 camera from a work colleague to take some photos for work-related reasons. So OH got what we needed, moved the photos to our PC and deleted the files....along with everything else on the card. Oops.

We got all the photos back using some data recovery software but the only problem is that the camera now won't recognise them - they're definitely on the card but the camera can't see the files for some reason.

So....any suggestions? Cheers!

Can your PC see the files and open them OK?

If it can, I'd say your best bet would be to copy them all onto a CD, blank the card and give him the camera and CD back explain what happened ...

lol we did that - but it took a DVD to fit them all. Problem was, the colleague in question wasn't meant to lend the camera to anyone - her OH doesn't like lending things. So....she has the camera, disc with pictures, and a PC to play with, but wants to try and get the photos recognised by the camera again, so the OH doesn't suspect.

The camera recognises new images that it takes, just not the old ones that have been returned to the memory stick. I've recommended she try using any proprietary software that was supplied with the camera, cos Sony devices can be a bit wierd that way. Beyond that...oops!

Can't she just say, Look what i did! Now we have them on disc and free room on the camera now?
lol

It can be the same for others though, I once tried putting a picture on a camera. Same type and around the same sizes and it wouldnt view on screen, Even if it was in the same 'name' line.

I think she's kind of forbidden from touching things in general, cos they tend to "mysteriously break"!

That's certainly the route I'd take in her situation, but I thought it'd be nice to give her options since it was our fault the memory stick got wiped!
