I think what they meant is people can download the single now but will it enter the chart? Well no not yet because you can only pre-order it, if I'm correct? Which means you will get the download once it is officially released, even if you pre-order it now.”

You can't download it now from anywhere that charges like iTunes so any downloads that take place now which are free don't go towards the chart. It can be downloaded officially on the 21st October.

Number 1 definately, with the X Factor perfomance, it being on Radio 1 and Capital's playlists and it being Scott Mill's single of the week!

It should be number one. It's good song and although it's more of a grower than a big impact kind of song, it is looking like it will be getting far more radio airplay than previous winners first attempts and also has the benefit of the XF performance.

I heard Take That the other day and I wasn't impressed. Still, they have devoted fans and it might be a grower as well, so they are in with a chance. I think McFly will be #3 or #4 and a bit off the top 2.

As for the album, I think it will be #2. It's looking like it will be up against the Spice Girls Greatest Hits but I'm thinking her album will launch with about 200,000 sales in it's first week. Hopefully, another strong single will come out shortly after and keep it in the top 20 over xmas.

Apparently Take That's new song is tipped for an Oscar :S

All the pre-order downloads will count towards her first week chart position, it's an extra push to get her to number one. I think she will get number one for one week, then drop to number two for a while. If she's up against the Spice Girls in the album sales i think they'll beat her on that one - people buy up the albums from X-Factor contestants directly after the show but its been a while for her, i think people will be more interested in singles for Leona, but if they're all good then i'm sure the album will still sell respectably.

Leona might perform more than one song on the X factor though , one that is from her album apart from A Moment Like This and Bleeding Love.

I think the second single is almost as important as the first when it comes to the album sales. It will be around in the weeks leading up to xmas and even being #20 at that time of year brings great sales. Most XF albums go in at number one and fall sharply (and that's even in May when sales are alot lower than November). Hopefully Leona can chart high with good sales and avoid dropping too fast.

EDIT: I expect her album will have an xmas week boost. I think she's a near certainty to appear on the final episode.

Doubtful. The guests have only ever performed one song for time constrictions. It's gonna be the first week as well so a lot of finalists and it will probably be a bit rushed.

I agree on the albums, as i said i think Spice Girls will get number one, but i think Leona is more likely to go in fairly high but stay around much longer in the top ten. You get that a lot with diva type albums. If they release a 3rd Leona single at xmas or just after that'll be another boost for the album.

Yeah but what I'm trying to say is that 'media' must know that illegal downloads don't count towards the chart

All the pre-orders will count towards the offical chart though because the official downloads will be released on the 21st even if you pre-order them now.

Yeah pre-orders do. I've pre-ordered mine even though I already have the single lol. Gotta buy it to support Leona!

It has got to be number one. Anything less, considering the time, money and effort, will be considered a flop.

Hardly! That's a bit dramatic. Anywhere in the top 5 I'd be happy with.

No people are downloading it now from rip offs sites (eg from P2P sites etc) which they dont have to pay for. And they dont get counted for the charts.

Its them sites where them people who sell doggy movie at the car boot before they are out, that let people download them. But many companys are trying to stop them but every time one gets done another pops up. And this is what can mess the charts up for a singer.

I don't mean to sound rude but I don't need a full lecture

I know all that! What I'm trying to say is that if you pre-order it legally then you will get it on the 21st and all the pre-orders will count towards the chart!

Top 10.

Due to all the people downloading it illegally it won't make number one ...easily.

I know what you are saying about pre-ordering it and making it go to say no1. But that may not happen as why would they go out and pre-order it when they have already got it on their computer, ipod, cd etc.

Also it looks abit bad for her album launch. As Leona may have some big compertion on her hands as the Divas ( Mariah and Ashanti) are putting a album out at the same time.

It'll be number one as it'll get a lot of airplay and insidiously deposit itself into your mind so you buy it.

NB:- Illegal downloads don't hinder a bid to get a number one single/album, they probably help it by increasing audience share.......but if you want to believe the phonographic industries claims that illegal downloads are the route of all evil (when its actually things like DRM, inflated prices etc) then be my guest

Not at all dramatic. Millions have been spent on getting the right look, the right sound, etc. They've also risked her long absence away from the public. To get anything less than the highest possible chart placing will be a disaster, frankly.

To settle for 'just' a top 5, well she may just as well have done another cover.

Well I disagree completely. To have ridiculously high expectations like that is just not realistic. Any artist would be thrilled with a top 5 placing, regardless of how long they took to complete their album and who they have worked with. I don't see why Leona would be any different.

I don't like the new song, but because it's Leona of X-Factor fame, I'm pretty sure it will get to number one.
