I liked her a lot, she was fun. I guess they made her emphasize the mad bit, lol. I can see her making the top 5. I actually thought the country song was quite good, they could do what they did with Carrie Underwood from American Idol.

I think she's my favourite of all of the ones I've seen go through.

It makes such a pleasant change to see someone with a personality that maybe is going to match their talent

You should be able to find it by googling Kimberley Southwick, but anyway it's a piece from the Birmingham Evening Mail in February 2004 about "talented schoolgirl Kimberley Southwick has had her lifelong dream come true - just one year after her much-loved brother died in her arms."

She was 16 when this piece was written, and they said she was 19 on the show, so that fits, and her mother is named as landlady of the Boot Inn, Grendon. She'd got a place at Italia Conti, but it sounds like maybe she couldn't afford to take it up. Her brother died aged 17 as "the only known survivor of bronchial pulmonary displasia to live past the age of four" and years of operations, intensive care etc.

i think kimberley has more than enough talent to get into the finals, her sob story has not been heard yet and I guess she would not want to go further just because of the "AHHH" factor. If the producers decide to air more about Kimberleys background then so be it.

yes obviously as her friend i was aware of this sob story & am glad it didn't come out before & that kim got in on her own merit!!!

she actually did go to italia conti dwn here in london for a year so she did take that up!! and the show at the palladium we did together lol woo!!!

i almost wish this had not come out as dnt want any sympathy votes from peopel & i know she wouldn't either!
