just got a replacement phone from virgin, its a w850i and its not a bad phone but i dont like it, i dont like the slider. virgin say i can swap it for another phone, i do prefer nokias and they have a 6300 which i was thinking of exchanging for, both phones have simular specs . i was wondering what the views are from other members who may have the 6300 , or w850i on the pros and cons of these phones..

I had a 6300, excellent phone, but unfortunately the back of it was too open to damage as it's really shiny ant the camera lens kept getting broken.

But it's a top phone apart from that.

thanks breatheme, been looking at the reviews on 6300 and all come out good, shame it does not do vga video recording like the 6233. i have played around with a 6300 and have found it to be nice and light and straight forward menus like all series 40 nokias. the sew850i is nice but i dont think the menu system stacks up to nokia plus i dont like the slider.

This probably dosen't directly answer your question directly, but I was pretty unhappy with the W850i too and only kept mine for about 2 months. Features like "TrackID" are great (if gimmicky) but I found it really bulky with poor controls and I didn't like the slide mechanism either. I've never had a 6300 but would give it serious consideration if I were in your shoes.

Do you mean you don't like sliders generally or specifically the one on the w850i?

I hated my w850i.. that bloody walkman button is just totally in the most stupidest place ever! apart from that, being bulky and a slider that kept getting jammed (which put me off sliders now) the phone is great. Nice menu system.
