Is it worth upgrading from the K750i to the K800i?

I'm considering buying a K800i but is it that much better than the K750i? My K750i (which I've owned for 13 months) still works perfectly well.

I hear that the K800i doesn't have Mega Bass nor has the option to use the light as a touch.

So, what is best; keep the current one or buy the K800i?

Oh, and I don't care for any other make/model as I can buy the K800i for £80 and that's the only reason why I would upgrade, see.

Depends if you use the torch or use the MP3 side of the phone much. The K800 is much better than the 750 on the Camera side. But apart from that there is not much difference. Only reason I upgraded from my 750 was the 3.2mp camera, otherwise I would have stayed with the old model.

Now I need to see the 850 and decide if its worth trading up.

I use the MP3 player and have been known to use the flash light occasion.

I have the K750i at the moment, and looking to upgrade as i am bored with my phone. I've been looking at the K8110 which is the upgraded k800, its just a little thinner. my friend has the k800 and it has a pretty amazing camera on.

I had a K750i (and still use it as a backup) and upgraded to the K800i. Camera wise, there's no comparison - the 3.2Mp camera is superb (for a phone and not too bad as a standalone digital camera without optical zoom).

One thing you will lose is the LED light - the K800i has a proper Xenon flash and the only LED it has now is the orange lamp that comes on for auto focus only.

I have a a 1GB M2 card and it currently has 700 photos on the card with the camera saying 300+ left to take (what it always says when it has loads of space left).

Aside from the camera is there any reason to upgrade?

3G connection if you're wanting faster connection speeds and video calls (expensive though, but it has a second camera on the front so that you can see the screen while you talk to the phone).

If it's just to be used as a normal phone, it's probably not worth upgrading. I still like my K750i which I've unlocked and use a Virgin pay as you go SIM. If you're happy with the camera, the MP3 player isn't much of an improvement to be honest.

One advantage if you do decide to upgrade - the peripherals use the same connector so if you've already got headphones etc. for the K750i, they'll work on the K800i (including the charger).

Okay, thanks for the advise. I think I'm going to stick with my K750i as it's still doing me well.

Do o2 charge to unlock their phones? I want to go on Orange.

Probably, and probably too much.

I got mine unlocked for a tenner in the local market - in the end I didn't really need to do it though as it was a T-Mobile phone originally and I now use a Virgin SIM (same physical network) - but I wanted the flexibility of being able to use O2/Voda as their lower frequencies allow signals to better penetrate buildings (apparently).

Is it safe to get your phone unlocked from the dodgy geezers on the market? What happens if they brick your phone? Or is that basically impossible these days?

Anyway. I have decided 100% not to upgrade and will get my K750i unlocked and buy a 2gb memory card instead.

I have the K800i, previously had a K750i a couple of years ago. There's not much difference really - the screen is nicer though and the interface/font is smoother.

I don't use the video call stuff, and the phone is bulky because it's 3G, so I have a bulky phone for something I don't use! Still, I like it.

Any phone can be bricked, usually the "dodgy geezers" will know more about the phones than the spotty hereberts in the major phone shops. I have had loads of phones unlocked at my local independent with none of them now being used as paper weights.

Won't be cheap though but maybe worth waiting as the price of the K800 will drop as soon as the 850 comes out. Thought it may have with the 810 until I tried it and found the keypad way to fiddly. The 800 still is better IMO.

Is the K850 the new 5MP camera phone???

I'm just going to stick with my K750i for another year or two. I decided that the features it has are enough for me.

I had the D750i (which was the T-Mobile branded version of the K750i) It was silver and blue.

By the end of the 12 months it looked like it had been in a carcrash. The paint was scraping off the buttons, and the screen had a lot of scratches.

I upgraded to the K800i after 12 months with this handset, I can say that the phone still looks brand new!!
I think because its black and the keys are rubber not plastic so the numbers dont fade off them with use.

Also, the screen is A LOT brighter and nicer on this model. I think its called QVGA, but if you have used both phones you will definatly be able to tell the difference.

Only downside would be not being able to use the light as a torch, or use the light while taking a video like you could on the old one, but on the whole Id say the K800i is far superior.

If you arent that bothered, Id wait for the K850i which has a 5mp camera. Its out in October I think.
