I noticed on Friday evening that the signal strength meter on my Sony Ericsson K800i (Orange contract) was displaying the blue blocks above the meter it shows when the phone is online via GPRS. At first I assumed I'd accidentally pressed the online shortcut and that it would go away - it can sometimes take a while to go into offline status - but it's stayed. Nothing I can do can make it go away now - it's permanently on.

As my brother-in-law has the same phone I brought up the subject with him and he too has exactly the same thing happening on his K800i.

Is anyone else experiencing this? If so does anyone know what it means? If not, maybe someone could give me an idea how to turn off this feature (assuming it's something I've inadvertently done in a menu).

Wouldn't that turn off GPRS all together?

Nope. GPRS connection turns back on when you go onto the internet.

Thanks - that did the trick. I'm pretty sure I changed that while checking out menu options on Friday in an attempt to get my laptop to connect to the internet via the phone.
