Oh no, just like DWtS. I hope they're not starting to copy all the worst parts of the American show.

Just looked on the RT website and the show times would seem to confirm this:
Saturday 06 October 6.15pm - 7.30pm
Sunday 07 October 6.50pm - 7.35pm

How weird, I bet we don't have one results show where we don't already know the outcome! If this is for ratings I don't think it's a smart move- loads of people probably wouldn't bother watching if they already knew who was going.

I cant understand why their doing this! Its bad enough waiting to see who goes on the Saturday, wihtout having to wait unitll the sunday!

I bet we never have to wait- it will be recorded on the Saturday, so all the people in the audience will know. It will get leaked every week.

Not only that FM's who go will know the result and could post it on here....

i don't like the fact that it isn't even live on the sunday just pre-recorded. it will lack any tension for the viewers because we know its been already recorded.

I like the idea that the results show will be on sunday. But if it is not going to be live then their is no point in doing it as the results will get leaked.

A lot of the American reality shows do this and in a way I could always understand that for them - I mean it's a very big country and with the different time zones it obviously makes it easier for them to do the results show next day at a sensible time.

Over here it just seems pointless.

I just hope they never schedule it up against Top Gear because I don't think that'll do SCD's results show ratings any good.

And it means no highlights show on Sunday

I think it will give the whole show a very different feel somehow, knowing that we'll watch the main show, find out who's leaving gradually by internet/press leaks, then watch them being told 24 hours later.

And of course the inevitable trolls who post pretending to have been to a show and watched the favourite get booted off

Presumably this means they won't be doing a highlights show on the Sunday. The point about the DWTS version is that their results show is the following day and also live. This is just silly as ours will have been pre-recorded on the Saturday night. They wouldn't be able to do it live on Sunday anyway as Len and Bruno will be on a plane back to LA every Sunday presumably.

I hope they realise after one week that it isn't gaining audience share and go back to Saturday night.

I didn't think we were going to get one either way to be honest since there was only one last year because of a highly specific reason. Didn't think it was a long term plan.

I think it might be just for one week as ITV are showing a second X Factor show on the Sunday night because of the live Rugby on Saturday night and the Final 12 contestants will be announced on this second show.

What was that?

I do hope it's only for one week, I don't think I'll like this arrangement.

Doesn't seem as though it's a one-off. And they'll be doing a dance-off with the judges deciding the result! I suppose this could stop shock departures where good people go out too early. So I think this part may be good, although it gives the judges more power. Hmm I'm not sure.

What a rubbish and stupid idea!

Wish the Beeb would go back to making up cat names and stop meddling with shows that work as they are!

ETA I can't believe the judges should get the final say, we know they will have their favourites.

Oh for goodness sake, who on earth thought it would be good to let the judges have the final say? After all the talk of favouritism last year, this is just the last thing the show needs.

I hope they stop it before the last few stages, otherwise the viewer vote will count for nothing- the judges' favourites will automatically get to the final no matter what the public think of them.

How true!

Wow, just read the press release, according to this "In the final week the viewers will decide who will be crowned Strictly Come Dancing champion 2007", it seems this will happen right the way up to and including the semi! I'm surprised they're letting us choose the winner

I was happy with the supposed good people going early as the viewers watching chose it to be that way.

This is how they did it for Joseph and Maria wasn't it?

Agree with you katie we can't have the judges choosing who gets to the final!

I guess some people will be pleased- most dancer viewers seem to think the public shouldn't be allowed to vote because of the results like Spoony leaving, Peter staying after his Samba etc.

Unfortunately I think part of the success of this show is that viewers do feel they've got a say, and this is going to reduce that dramatically. I really think it's a mistake.

On a positive note the press release does mention more dancing in the results show- I hope they're not just referring to the dance off but to more pro dances as well.

Would love more pro dances that concentrate on the pros and not promoting someone's new song!

I can understand why they do it, to get more votes and more ratings, but seriuosly, if it's not live, then it's no point!

At this stage I think I'd be happy if the whole show was pro dances!

I think this might actually encourage more sympathy voting- you really don't need to vote for your favourites if they get high marks from the judges, because the judges will save them.

If they have to do this dance off, why not give the final say to someone independent, preferably a dance judge?

I was a bit undecided but after reading some of the points on here I'm definitely against it.

Yes, this is how they did it for Joseph and Maria, and most of the time I disagreed with ALW. The judges obviously will have favourites so it'll turn the show into a joke. Imagine if it becomes like the X Factor with the judges spending forever making up their minds and then making really stupid decisions?

I suppose they're having to do this because if the results show isn't shown live, the public can't vote in the dance-off. One way to solve this problem: show the results live on a Saturday!
