The one and only reason they are doing this is to try and beat X-factor in the ratings.”

Seeing as Strictly normally beats X-Factor anyway when the 2 shows are against each oter, and the X-Factor is only on that one week on a Sunday, I very much doubt that's the reason. It does seem though that judging by the BBC1 schedule for next Saturday, the earliest they could get the results show on would be around 9.55pm. Perhaps they don't want it playing so late?

loving your tag Dead Parrot - I presume it is in homage of the brilliance of Monty Python - a python for SCD next series

Dear <insert viewer name here>

Thankyou for your email regarding 'Strictly Come Dancing'. Whilst we appreciate that on the face of it, your email was complaining about the proposed changes to the format, I can assure you that you are in actual fact supportative of the change, and I shall be feeding this back our market researchers as soon as possible.

'Strictly Come Dancing' is a family show but quite often people go out after the main programme on Saturdays. We can't imagine why, given the glorious feast of Robin Hood and Dale Winton on the lottery, but who cares because we can still brag about BBC dominating Saturday nights.

Please understand that the rationale behind the change is that once we've found a programme that pulls in these plebs (the name we give to viewers internally at the BBC), we milk it for all it's worth. As I'm sure you'll appreciate, now we've got the figures on the doors for Saturday, we're relying on them to come back like docile sheep, bleating a happy tune, for a repeat dose on the Sunday.

May I also assure you that well over 60% of the content of the Sunday show will be "carried over" from the Saturday show. Whilst some people (those pesky plebs again) might interpret this as a "repeat", our research and feedback suggests that you plebs have the memory of deceased goldfish, and need to be reminded of what happened the day before, in great detail.

Thank you for contacting us, and please let me assure you that going forward, we've taken not one blind bit of notice of you. Due to the unique way the BBC is funded, we'll still get our bit, don't you worry.

Regards,
BBC”

Love it!

Sadly, I suspect this is not that far from the truth.....

On the normal saturday result show, the guest singer/band and the dancing pro demonstrations were the only bits that was pre recorded - the actual eliminations were totally live. On the new sunday result show it looks like none of the programme will be live

the pro dancers were also live, its only the band - because of the kit they need - that wasn't live, although they do a rehersal and one take so its not far off. The main advantage of being there live was watching the pro's reherse, and then again watching them live

Well, much as I am not a fan of this format change, there's now a great reason for me to watch on Sunday...

"The Results Show: Who will be the first couple to leave Strictly Come Dancing this year? Plus last year's champion Mark Ramprakash dances the salsa and singer Michael Buble performs."

Great news - do you think he will be dancing with Karen? Whilst they are my favourites I will love to see others from the previous SCD series - maybe that's what they plan to do with the Sunday shows - would love to see Zoe, Jill Denise, Colin and Aled perform
